You forgot that Kosovo held a referendum in 1991 where 95% of Kosovo population voted for independence. It is absolutely not true that no one was killing them. The reaction of then Jugoslavia was to send in the army and increase police forces. The local government was dismissed and almost all albanians were fired from their jobs (Police, Teachers, Doctors, Government etc.) Mass arrests, police beatings and show trials were going since 1981 and intesified after 1986. This lead to the referendum. The increase of force against a wast majority of the population after the referendum who had to live as second class citizens in an serb apartheid system lead ultimately to the war.

It was not a speratist movement of a small group but a revolution of 95% of the population against occupation and repression.

Don’t worry about that as your birth rate is little better. As soon as Serbs feel a real threat they will hopefully be back to their main job. It has been confirmed by Nuland that the US invested in Kosovo's independence starting 1996, therefore, the military option was expected.
