I don't think there is any condition in Turkeys EU membership path that says that Turkey must wait for Serbia gets its act together.

The reasons chapter 23 and 24 are not opened is obvious. The judiciary and the police are very corrupt and highly influenced by the politics.
A judge is suppose to make a judgement based on the constitution and the law not on what the SNS or the SPS decide.

Maybe this "journalist" could investigate or publicize the corruption that is holding up Serbia's EU membership and how this corruption is encouraged by Russia.
Perhaps she could talk about judges being sacked for following the law instead of Vucic.

You can see this corruption in the recent Savamala demolitions, Belgrade on water documentation, plagiarized and bought diplomas, Air Serbia/Ethiad corruption, mass publicized arrests at election time, arrest of opposition members only etc
Even the other day a vendor died in the market after a heart attack which is being blamed on harassment for bribes from the communal police.

If Dacic cut the corruption from his party then maybe his whining would receive some sympathy.

Please do not lie! You know exactly what was asked of you. But here again if you forgot:

1. Join the economic sanctions against Russia.
2. Do not block Kosovo joining international institutions such as UN, UNESCO etc.
3. Recognize Kosovo

They are only three criteria. They are easy to memorize.

Regardless of what happens, if Serbia comes to the stage of joining the EU, a membership referendum should always be put to the people. Giving up sovereignty is a huge issue and should not be left to politicians.

EU can careless what Serbs want to do from here on out. Stop comparing yourself to UK, you're not that important and certainly not a big player as it relates to EU.

William I agree with you 100% that people should decide in referendum for Serbia to Join EU or not.

Should there be a referendum in Kosovo as well so that Serbia accepts Kosovo the next day?

Referendum same as in Scotland or South Sudan where all people from that territory get to vote (i.e it was held in 1990 but ignored by sloba)

I live in the UK and the best decision we made was to get out of the EU.

Germany isn't becoming the top dog in the EU it already is. They want to rule the roost and call the shots and this becomes more apparent as the days pass. Now instigated by Germany the EU leadership (Mrs Merkel) wants an EU army and a super state where any sovereignty will be completely done away with. Serbia, do yourselves a favor and don't join that club of corruption. You will regret it if you ever get in.

That's because we need EU much much more than EU needs us, yet we refuse to follow their rules. We didn't join NATO, and they still let us join. We didn't impose sanctions on Russia, yet they still let us join. People, please don't be stupid. If we turn against Europe, it will be the death of Serbia. Even our allies Greeks and Romanians would turn against us.

Getting Serbs to vote "No" for the EU is simple.

Just present them the list of conditions mentioned below!

To exploit the anger that would come from that is as easy as pushing 3 buttons. The SOC will push the first button and instruct 50% of the population to vote No.

Ummmm...... There is no compelling reason for Serbia to recognize Kosovo.

Another poster mentioned that Serbia should stop comparing itself to the United Kingdom. Inadvertently the poster identified the problem with the EU, and that is inequality. It isn't really a union when only certain nations have a choice, nor when the people of its member nations are ignored. That's the reason that people want to leave Europe, because the European Union is not interested in winning hearts and minds, it's primarily concerned with control.

Well I was asking the question as Referendum was claimed as most democratic way to hear the voice of people, if you believe that Referendum for Serbia in EU or NATO is only way the so should be for Kosovo people to choose their fortune!
