Can you explain what Vojvodina means. As a perspective Serb you must have an answer. But to help you I can say that Vojvoda ajo ishte më e larta ushtarake titull në rusisht Hordhi.
(rote, 3 July 2016 14:41)

The name was derived from vojvoda - duke. It used to be a part of various empires and was usually inhabited by various peoples, and even Serbian noblemen came to prominence on several occasions. However, we weren't there in significant numbers until Arsenije Carnojevic led us en masse, fearign Ottoman vengeance and made a deal with the Habsburgs (then-owners) to let us live there in exchange for fighting Turks.

And I have no idea what this thing you wrote means, because for the 1000th time, I'm not Albanian.

pipe dream alert!!!! Yugoslavia is dead and good riddance to it
(Nikolle, 1 July 2016 10:39)

Oh I agree, good riddance to Yugoslavia. But what you may not know is Yugoslavia (and most specifically, Serbia) is responsible for every toilet that was built installed in Kosovo-Metohija pre 1999. In fact, hundreds of thousands of Albanians saw civilization for the very first time when they left Hoxha's Albania and came to Tito's Yugoslavia. I am no fan of that tyrannical regime, but Yugoslavia was club med for you guys. You've never have, and you never will, have a better situation than Yugoslavia.

Last year he was saying that that the EU should never be able to overrule one of its members. Sovereignty of the individual countries is important etc etc
This year thinks the EU should group together and overrule Croatia.

It's a pity the EU still imposes a speedboat ban on Albania. It would have made it much faster and safer for refugees & migrants (and ltos of money for Albania) to make it to Germany via Italy and saved the Balkans a lot of trouble. An opportunity lost! ;)

With statements such as "if Croatia represents a yardstick for joining the EU then we are going in the wrong direction" and "EU's decision was "unacceptable to Serbia" coming from a Foreign Minister and some even more ridiculous ones coming from the President, it's a surprise Serbia is even allowed to go this far in negotiating with civillized nations.

Serbia needs new leadership, Milosevic's former errand boys can only take you so far.

An obvious solution consistent with civilized values is a Serbia- Croatia reunification to enable a truly single national jurisdiction for war crimes, as well as one reunified parliament that provides for the best possible proportional representation for Croats. Problem solved. Croatia gets all it asked for and more.

To Serbia: Go have a drink and go for a swim. When you come back you may find a club that isn't in your interest to join. Don't worry, if you walk away, they will come knocking on your door within 1 month. If they want a stable Balkan, they have no choice but let Serbia in. The other states around Serbia are mostly incompetent (and will stay that way).

As for Serbia needing to be "taught a lesson" or "made to pay." These are small comments by small minds who get high on retribution instead of clear political thinking. I know a group of teenagers on my block who can formulate stronger political dialogue (and in less words).

Got love Dacic. For a man who despises the EU and wants no bar of it, his showmanship is first class. Congratulations on providing the minority pro-Eu Serbs with a picture of your disgust & displeasure when all along it was this outcome that you & the government wanted. touché.
Oh yeah, thanks to the Eu for the rejection. Once again it worked a treat for people's opinions on the Eu!

Yes it is ROMANA … Thus the Siberian oil is already yours. Be happy that we do not ask for Ploesti oil fields. It would seem wise for the EU to halt all negotiations with all candidate countries until they know how they are going to deal with the UK's exit and the potential contagion that this might cause. Aside from a large tranche of money Britain had provided, until recently, a good deal of impetus to the enlargement process dating back to John Major's championing of Poland and (then) Czechoslovakia as new members. From Serbia's point of view it would also be wise to wait and see what exactly it is that you are asking to join.

The minister added that EU's decision was "unacceptable to Serbia" and that he will suggest to PM-designate Aleksandar Vucic to hold urgent consultations on the country's further foreign policy moves, ahead of the July 4 Paris Summit.
--
Quite interesting, Vucic recently meets with Russia's and China's presidents, cancels meetings with the EU and US and now Dacic suggests the country review Serbia's next foreign policy moves. All this with rumours that the West is attempting another coloured revolution. I wonder what's around the corner?

Why waste time accepting fascist Croatia's demands when the EU will not be accepting any new members as it reels from the loss of the UK? You think the EU will lose the 5th largest economy in the world and accept another Balkan country anytime soon? That's a sure fire way to piss off another northern European country and convince them to have their own referendum.

Croatia will capitulate. Especially if Serbia sanctions Croatia which is absolutely dependent on the Serbian market for exports. It would cripple Croatia. But I think this is the perfect scenario. Pretend you still want to join this failing union all the while blame Nazi Croatia for blocking you. Then actually do what's most important which is deepening relations with China and Russia.

Now that UK is out of EU, the development aid for the Central and Eastern European 'new member' countries must be reduced by 25-30% because the UK was the 3rd biggest contributor to it.

Now that UK is out of EU, the development aid for the Central and Eastern European 'new member' countries must be reduced by 25-30% because the UK was the 3rd biggest contributor to it.
