Hey icj - I see you've now run over to this thread after dodging my questions to you on a previous thread. Don't you know it's bad manners to start a debate then run off without answering the questions that were asked of you? Don't worry, your actions speak a thousand words. I'd probably run away too if my arguments were as flimsy as yours.

Well it is partly Serbia's fault for not controlling its own borders and allowing easy access for the illegals to come into Serbia from Macedonia or Bulgaria.
If not for Macedonia taking a stand, Serbia would still be allowing thousands to enter per day.
Serbia should have built walls or done much better patrolling of its borders with Macedonia and now Bulgaria.

just read through the B92 boards (starting with your own posts would be helpful) - then you will see who is truly obsessed with whom.

I think you have mixed 'Croatia' and 'Serbia' - just read through the B92 boards (starting with your own posts would be helpful) - then you will see who is truly obsessed with whom.

'Also it begs the question, why are they so unequipped to handle a few thousand refugees given the fact that Croatia is pretty empty after they ethnically cleansed a quarter million Serbs just 20 years'

Absolutely no comparison between the two - pointless argument. The 'fact' is Serbs evacuated under their leaders' orders ahead of the advancing Croatian forces - please explain how that counts as ethnic cleansing. Speaking of which, refer to the Serbs removing almost the entire non-Serb population from the so-called RSK over the course of 3-4 years - that was ethnic cleansing. You really think the Croats could systematically go from village to village and accomplish that in 4 days?

Of course not, since the Serbs had already begun moving before the Croats arrived. But if you are still feeling bitter, perhaps you should take it up with your own leaders.

Because like the rest of the region, they can barely take care of their own. Many areas of the country are devoid of anyone, and any Croat with sense leaves and either heads for Zagreb, Istria, or parts of Dalmatia that are affordable. Large parts of Krajina and Slavonia are essentially ghost towns or on their way to becoming ghost towns in 20 years. As the poorest country in the EU they're perpetually one month away from systemic bankruptcy.

Not so unusual, considering the fact that all our dealings with refugees end with us sending them to Croatia.
(Vojvodina, 30 June 2016 12:51)

Look, I know that people in Vojvodina tend to be a little more naive than the rest of Serbia but last I checked, Serbia wasn't sending any refugees "to Croatia". Refugees are heading to Croatia as they're heading to Hungary to get into the center of Europe where the end goal is Germany, Austria, Denmark. Netherlands, or any other tragically developed country with a quality of life exponentially better than the Domovina. No Middle Eastern ever thinks "hey, let's head for Croatia!" Don't give Lijepa njihova any more of an ego than they already have. In truth, Serbia's treatment of refugees - who mind you are already in Europe having passed through all kinds of sh!t in Greece and Macedonia - is part of an already started chain of events. That they treat them far better than where they came from and where they're going is testament to Serbia's character. Sure, they may know their stay is temporary and they don't want to delay them on their travels, but just as Macedonia got them into Serbia, or Bulgaria, Serbia lets them pass on to Croatia, or Hungary, or the moon if it gets them to Berlin faster.

But of course, leave it up to Croatia to not see the larger picture and blame it, as predicted, on some devious plot by Serbia to weaken their country.

But as usual, it will take us more than a decade to accept that fact.

Please, you are so disingenuous it's laughable. You are no more from the Balkans than Merkel is from Vojvodina. Your comments are entertaining but have no discernible value. Just another troll.

Serbia didn't "send" the refugees anywhere? Did Greece send them to Serbia? No. There is a path which the refugees are taking on their way to northern Europe and Croatia was simply the next on that route. I forgot the part where Serbia was loading the refugees on buses and driving them to the Croatian border.

But I guess the bigger question is, what would Croatia do to preoccupy their time if Serbia didn't exist. That entire country is fundamentally obsessed with Serbia. Also it begs the question, why are they so unequipped to handle a few thousand refugees given the fact that Croatia is pretty empty after they ethnically cleansed a quarter million Serbs just 20 years ago?

Which is a horrible testament to both Serbia and Croatia.

Croatia for the way they treat these people.
Serbia for knowing how they treat these people and still sending them there.

I wish people of Balkan would finally realize it's 2016 and no human being should be illegal.

But as usual, it will take us more than a decade to accept that fact.
