I honestly would have to say that Vucic should stop all this nonsense once and for all. He is doing nothing but making himself look more and more like a fool. There is so much Serbia can do without the EU then with it. You can make jobs in your country with the right partners and the right moves without selling your identity to fake organizations like the EU! You can make your own world unions with people who have not bombed and killed your own people. You can make long lasting powerful partners like China, Russia, Korea, UAE and work import export firms with them. Serbia can be the most powerful nation in all of Europe but only if you stop selling your soul to these politicians in the EU who have already sold your nation and parts of your nations like Kosovo. I visit Serbia often and out of 3,560 people I have asked in 12 months Do you want Serbia to join the EU I have written down 84 that said Yes. No one can prosper more from the EU then Vucic. Come on Serbia wake up!

Yes, Dacha. The Titanic had sunk, but we still want "Class 4" tickets for the bottom deck suite.

How much more self-loathing and self-disrespecting can one get?

Avni : I don't know why people think this is a big deal. UK has never been completely in EU. UK has not joined the Euro currency, plus even as part of EU they had much more independence than others (like not being part of Schengen, etc). In a way I think this might be better for EU in a long run. I even think through Britain US controlled EU.

I'm already independent from Serbia. Not sure what is a single thing that I depend on Serbia!!!

When nations are wanting to get out of this crumbling union, Why is Serbia still trying to get in?
Upon joining you forfeit sovereignty of your borders.
Serbia had a part of their sovereignty illegally taken from them by corrupt U.S and Europe.
This should be a lesson for them not to embark on this dead end journey.
Why do we keep embarrassing ourselves by trying to mix with nations who hate us and torment us? It's a disgrace. Norway, Swiss and U.K dont need the union.
Either does Serbia.

A sad day for Kosovo albanians. No more EU, no more pressure on Serbia to recognize Kosovo before joining. What a great day!
(Hank the Tank, 24 June 2016 10:58)

So you are more concerned with others being sad than you being happy lol

Anyway, I haven't heard Kosovo Albanian saying they are sad! Are you sad because they are not sad or what exactly are you saying :)

As for the EU, it is not exercising any pressure on Serbia in regards to Serbia recognising Kosovo or not because EU's position, in agreement with Serbia and Kosovo, is the "*". So whether the EU exists or not is immaterial to Kosovo and Serbia recognising each other or not.

The only potential impact for Kosovo is that Kosovo will get an additional recognition if Scotland finally decides to vote for independence, as it looks more likely now.

This is just the beginning, as I mentioned yesterday other EU members will hold their own referendums. Britain leads the way!

I wonder if Serbia will have a referendum also? The EU will be a completely different and smaller place by then. The crises continue to shatter the EU and it is not unexpected when it is run by a group of unelected bureaucrats.

While EU members start leaving, how can anyone seriously consider joining?

Happy independence day!

Britain is strong enough to leave. Serbia is weak enough to benefit by joining.

Provided that is, that the EU downsizes both its role and its ambition to form a single state.

Nobody cares about Serbia in the EU in the next 5-10 years. Brexit will give plenty of work to every EU bureaucrat in Brussels in the foreseeable future. Expanding the EU is extremely low priority right now when the boat is sinking.

I really hope the Serbian government is not this foolish. Though what they COULD be doing is just saying this and deciding to move towards the EU even slower than Serbia is today. If so, then it's the right move. It still might not be in Serbia's interest to publicly say no to the EU, but time to move even slower meanwhile deepening relations with China and Russia. The EU funds will be harder to come by now that a northern European country has left, but Serbia must compete for these funds before they run out and the project falls apart. After which it wont matter what Serbia things of this failing project. Happy Independence Day UK!
