Nearly Everyone things it greener other side of the fence,
I agree with your comments,having lived majority of my live in Australia and Britain ,and now in Serbia,majority people in the Balkans have a roof over there head with no mortgage (house inherited) ,have a job to live normal,but are intrigued with the Hollywood series of the wealthy in California,which I am trying to educate people that people live is only 10℅ of population in USA.Eeveryone wants to find their perfect place,but don't notice what is under their noise!.

Amazes me that Serbs in Serbia still have these dreams that the grass is greener in the West..the facts are the so called middle class is poor. No vacations, no new cars, no steak, or fresh vegetables. Its more like canned food, and credit cards. What you see on tv is an illusion built on borrowing from credit cards and loans. Most homes are owned by the bank and those nice cars you see on the road....all credit. You wqnt to leave your country and lose your heritage and culture? Live in credit, fine come and be a slave you Slavs...but you wont be able to compete with low wage earners from third world countries that are all ready here. But of course,you won't believe a word ..you have your DS party leader ...seeking Western money. I didn't mention that , but I will answer it for you.
Albania in 1976 and 1986 was under Enver Hoxha until his death in April 1985.Albanians under the Communist system had jobs ,free health care ,free education,free electricity,free water system,free housing,the usual Communist thing's.Now Albania have high unemployment,no free health care,no free education,no free electricity and water,no free housing.
The answer is there for you,"about the same",not much improvement!.
Serbia in 1796 was under Ottoman rule,and is worse off.
Serbia in 1986,is ruled by Croatian Ante Mirkovic,with a huge inflation,and is not better off.
So , Albania would be the same position with both good or bad!.
So,Serbia is in worse position with a Croatian and Ottoman ruling Serbia and definitely better position in 2016!.

So you think that some visits and signing some agreements are "sure success". Greece has signed a lot of "Chinese agreements" and "Russian agreements" too.
When you see actually something built, than you can say "payback time".
If i`m not wrong it was you and some others here who were very enthusiastic about South Stream and very sure about "TAP failure".

And EVERY country today is depended on dept. USA, EU and China. So don`t blame Tito for that one.

Yugoslavia didn`t fall because of economical problems. The first Yugoslavia was based on Serbian oppression against other nations. That`s why Croats took their revenge at Jasenovac.
Second Yugoslavia was based on oppressing Serbian and Croatian nationalism by Tito. When Tito died no one could restrain both Serbian and Croatian extremists.
The rest is very well known.

But the fact is that Serbia during Yugoslav period was much more powerful than it is today. And Yugoslavia failure was Serbian extremism fault too.

That`s why i said that it was Yugoslavia who was an artificial state, not Albania or Kosovo. Albania and Kosovo are as "artificial" as Slovenia or Slovakia. Oppressed people who declare their independence.

I am laughing at the comments by negitive Albanian's(Avni,Azir,Clown of K,Observer,guest ,etc) about Serbia progressing with UAE ,China,Russia ,where the most important people ,like Sheiks,Presidents and Prime Minister are coming or already been to sign business deal's to move the whole Balkans forward.I mention this 2 months ago with these comments.Instead majority of Albanian's called me dreaming with "fairy tales",and insulting comments.Now,payback is a bitch to these , Albanian's.

Yugoslavia is a special case.

Marshall Tito was adept at convincing Moscow that it was Americas friend and convincing America that it was Moscows friend.

This led to funds (handouts) from both parties.

This funding created a Yugoslavia that completely fell apart when the funding from both sides was cut off in 1990 (collapse of USSR).

That Yugoslavia will never come back. People had one month off for summer vacation. one month for winter vacation. and one month for sick days.

Sooo... Yugoslavia had a deep fall from an artificial perch... adn then an even deeper fall due to the unravelling of Yugoslavia.

Albania was already the poorest country in Europe so it had no place to fall. It could only go up.

That said, Serbia's prospects are quite good and growth is back.

The question you should be asking yourself is as follows:

How is it that all the neighbors of Serbia are only marginally better than Serbia, yet Serbia just went thru 5 wars, international bombing, infrastructure loss of billions of dollars, brain drain, outer ring of sanction, inner ring of sanctions, secret sanctions, two floods.

According to your logic, Serbia is moving in the other direction as Seselj's SRS is in favour of joining Russia while Dacic's SPS is also Russian friendly. DS and LDP are two of the weakest parties while DSS/Dveri are traditionally Russian friendly also.
