If Serbia wants to become part of the EU, it will have to comply with the EU rules. Otherwise, Serbia is certainly free to seek becoming part of Russia, the African Union, the Organization of Islamic Countries or whatever Serbia wishes :)

And, btw, Serbia not becoming part of the EU is also great for Kosovo. So it's a win-win situation.

We,Serbia still might not join EU,but it's hard when Russian Prime Minister and Chinese President are comes to Belgrade and all of a sudden ,EU and USA minister's are in a panick, in Belgrade to court Serbia in their direction with gifts and big love promises!.
Remember it's the EU that needs Serb's ,more than Serb's need EU,especially with big Iranian, UAE,Chinese,and Russian investment to be invested into Serbia at this moment!!.
Especially,Chinese President visiting Serbia for 3 days of his time to small country like little Serbia!,then Russian Prime Minister ,that has made EU,and USA nervous!.

If russia's friendship was judged by its results rather than intentions, it is very easy to understand that it has been a disaster for serbia.

Serbia can sit on 2 chairs all it wants. Its always sits on two chairs and it will continue to sit on 2 chairs. Its geographic position requires it to sit on 2 chairs.

The EU needs Serbia in the EU just as much as Serbia wants to be in the EU. Without Serbia in the EU you have an unstable Balkans. The EU has no choice but to let Serbia into the EU or it can live with perpetual and chronic problems at its periphery.

The conditions of Serbia's entry will be more negotiated than you think -- not because Serbia is strong, but rather because its entry will take place at a time when negotiation will be more acceptable than in the past.

Serbia has a long history of following the beat of its own drummer. Nemanjic. Ottomans. WW1. WW2. Cold War. Nato Bombing. This will be no different. All Serbs support this 100%.

Exactly. Serbs terms in regards to Kosovo are irrelevant to the EU since it is Serbia that has asked to join the EU, not the other way around. As somebody in these forums very wisely wrote about membership in an organization, it is existing members that set terms for new members.
