On Mar 4-5, 1941, Prince Paul was summoned by the Fuehrer & given the usual threats

On Mar 25, the Yugoslav Premier slipped out of Belgrade the night before to avoid hostile demonstrations or even kidnapping, and in Vienna in the presence of Hitler & Ribbentrop he signed to the Tripartite Pact

He no sooner returned to Belgrade than the government & the Prince were overthrown on the night of Mar 26-27, by popular uprising

Page 824
During the celebrations in Belgrade, in which a crowd spat on the German minister's car, the Serbs had shown where their sympathies lay

The coup threw Hitler into one of the wildest rages of his life. He took it as a personal affront and in his fury made decisions which would prove utterly disastrous to the fortunes of the Third Reich

He summoned his military on Mar 27 & raged about the revenge he would take... He was determined,... "to destroy Yugoslavia militarily & as a nation. No diplomatic inquiries will be made," he ordered, "and no ultimatums presented." Yugoslavia would be crushed with "unmerciful harshness." Hungary, Rumania, Italy to divide Serbia except for a Croatian state

2 days after signing the Serbs tore up the pact
(factman, 13 June 2016 06:35)

That's a pure lie, because they didn't tore it up. The government that signed the Pact was overthrown in a coup, and the new government adhered to the signature and continued negotiations with Germany.

But before Nedic, Yugoslavia's government did sign the Tripartite Pact (with Germany, Italy and Japan) without being under Nazi occupation and without a shot being fired. Pure example of cowardice. Whereas the Albanian Nazi Fascists were a puppet government under Fascist occupation. So, if you want to discuss comparisons, relatively speaking, Yugoslavia has lower moral ground than Albania.

Funny how Nedic never declared war on the US and its allies in WWII, unlike the Albanian Nazi Fascists.
(Jugoslavija, 10 June 2016 19:54)

Well, Nedic was the head of a puppet government like the Albanian Nazi Fascist government. That means that Germany did not order him to declare war on the US and its allies. So not sure what your point is!

However, that does not mean that Yugoslavs or Albanians were Nazi or Fascist's collaborators. Indeed, after WW2, both Yugoslavia and Albania were considered as victors and both of them got war reparations from the Axis countries.

Why does the West not realize that the only truly just and truly peaceful people in Serbia live in its northern province, stop thinking how to show Nationalists the light, they should focus more on helping people in Vojvodina fight for their rights. The rest of Serbia should soon follow.

There were only 3 peoples in the world that made their fight against Hitler their national idea. Those were the Brits, Serbs and the Soviets. With the US aid (not USAID!) we there fuc*ed the rest of Europe. Two Yugoslavian armies composed mostly of the Serbs (including the Montenegrins) suffered second big combat losses in WW2. More than the Americans and the Brits. Hats off! 20 000 of the Shqiptars were peanuts compared to the two Serbian armies.

I always find it funny how serbs forget about how former MP of the King Milan Nedic declared the to be occupied by Nazi-Germany and later proudly proclaimed Beograd as the first "Jew-Free" Capitol of Europe.

Not historically when it stood up to Hitler while the rest of the region jumped in with the Nazis and not now when it's the only country when it's the only country in Europe not to have sanctions on Russia.

As for Serge and the Hague Tribunal, they really have no shame. The people they want extradited arent even accused of war crimes but of "obstruction" of their fake court. Meanwhile killers are walking the streets acquitted or not even prosecuted beacuse the ICTY thinks it's legal to murder Serbian civilians.

From the bottom of my heart everyone working for that tribunal can go straight to hell.

Serbia, the banana republic of the Balkans tries to be tough, and shows it's real face. It asks for what it callls respect for international law when it comes to it's own intrests, even threatens countries like Slowania earlier today, but when it comes to fullfilling it's own international legal obligations it simply refuses to do so. It is time the EU puts on heavy duty thumb screws and makes it perfectly clear that a red line has long been passed by Serbia. That there will be no EU future to a country like present day Serbia. There simply is no common ground between us. Your value systems and ours have not much in common. Go and become part of the fascist Putin-Russia alliance. That's where you belong, and most certainly not with the free democratic West.
