If he is not going there to apologize than why is he going? To feel good about killing civilians? I believe Japan should not let him desecrate the memorial. USA wanted dead people. If they wanted to send a message to Japan they could have bombed an inhabited place or a military outpost, not kill everyone in two cities. I wonder if there will ever be a trial for this crime?

Rote even if according to you Nevada means no water in Russian doesn't mean that the state of Nevada has anything to do with a Russian word.Think of it as "popo" being an uncommon American slang term for police and po meaning yes in Albanian where popo is derived from the po prefix in police so more than ever it has nothing to do with po meaning yes in Albanian, however,I confirmed in real life that a Kosovar-Albanian man agrees that popo would sound weird and/or funny to an Albanian all because it sounds like saying yesyes in the Albanian language.

You have so diluted the word “Genocide” that it can apply to almost any crime, real or imagined. This has succeeded in rendering the word redundant.

Had the Japanese not surrendered, then the Americans would have exterminated them all. When I say “all” I mean every Japanese man, woman and child would have been killed and Japan transformed into a nuclear wasteland. There was certainly Genocidal intent in the American heart.

In Srebrenica no Moslem women or children were killed. The Moslem “boys” you mention were 15 years old and considered by their co-religionists as men. They had guns and bombs and were part of a military unit.

All the Moslems who surrendered in the town were either freed immediately (women and children and the elderly) or were later swapped for Serbians held captive by the Sarajevo Islamic forces. The Moslem “men and boys” who refused to surrender were engaged in battle as they broke through Serb lines and marched to Tuzla and other Moslem held towns. In there battles, the Bosnian Serb Army lost 500 men. How many Moslem “men and boys” were killed in these battles? According to you and your NATO history, none were killed in battle and very few survived the march to Tuzla.

Unlike Americans, the Bosnian Serbs had no Genocidal intent.

If, as the Americans insist, the killing of a few thousand armed Islamic fighters in Srebrenica amounts to Genocide, then what language do we use for the deliberate incineration of hundreds of thousands of Japanese women, children and the elderly in these two cities?
(Michael Thomas, 23 May 2016 13:27)

People executed with their hands tied behind their back were armed and dangerous?!!!

Genocide is not determined by the number of those killed, but by the intent of those who committed the killing. Go read UN's definition.

Srebrenica was genocide because it was committed with the intent to destroy an ethnical group. Even after surrendering and having their hands tied, thousands of men and boys were executed because the intent of those who committed genocide at Srebrenica was not to just have them surrender; they intended to destroy them as an ethnic group - that is genocide.

Hiroshima was a war crime for the indiscriminate targeting/killing of civilians. But the US had no intention to destroy the Japanese people. Indeed the bombing stopped as soon as Japan surrendered. So it does not fit the definition of genocide.

You hope that finding more "genocides" will dilute the horror of the genocide members of the VRS committed in Europe, at the end of 20th century. Whether you like it or not there are only two acts of genocide the international community as a whole has determined to have occurred beyond reasonable doubt: Rwanda in 1994 and Srebrenica in 1995.

Zoran : bombing as completely unnecessar

It’s not a secret already that decision to use the nuke was taken long before the bomb was tested in Nevada (No Water) province of the USA. It happened in one of the meetings between Churchill and FDR in 1944. The two made up their minds to use the bomb as soon as it was ready. It was to be tested in Germany. But the Russian offensive was too fast in 1945. Zhukov launched a front attack while Konev made a hook to cut off the Americans who since March met no resistance. Berlin stopped to resist much sooner than the bastards had expected so they had no chance to use the bomb in Germany. It was tested only during Potsdam. Stalin knew about the successful test two hours before Truman but he gave no sign. He knew that the real target was the USSR whom the UK/USA were trying to demoralize. Anyways only Japan could save the situation. So they dropped the only two bombs they had. Bombs killed the Japanese but they were aimed at the USSR because there was no need to use them as Japan was demoralized already. By the way Japan took no part in WW2. They conducted colonial wars against Britain, USA and France but it was quite another story. Hitler called them traitors because they refused to attack the USSR. Moreover Japanese PM spent more than a month in the USSR in 1942 twice meeting Stalin. Thus I ask you to remember that the Devils didn’t care on whom to test the bomb be it Germans or Japanese or Shiptars or Russians or anybody else.

Some people on this site are quick to condemn Serbs for little atrocities, real and imagined, but to jump to the defence of America which has committed more murders than any nation in the history of mankind. Who attacked Pearl Harbour? This is a question more complex than many posters seem to understand, but whatever the cause of the war with Japan the Americans had no right and justification to slaughter millions of Japanese civilians. The Japanese killed no America civilians and were therefore better soldiers and better humans than the Americans.

There are many historians who describe the bombing as completely unnecessary and call it worse than genocide. This is only one of many genocides committed in the name of the United States.

No apology needed. Japan, then ally of Nazi Germany, attacked the US for no reason and they paid the ultimate price. Far more deaths and destruction would have occurred on both sides if the US had invaded Japan, so it as actually the lesser of two evils. Japan refused to surrender, so what were the other options?
