You believe just because something is a Church that it cannot not enter a civil area of debate or even politics.
(obvious, 22 May 2016 21:37)

No, I did not make that absolute statement :) So, that may be your belief not mine. I made an exception...

Also, if this organization called SOC chooses to become an entity with political rather then religious goals, it can't then complain when it's treated as a political entity and not as a religious one. You can't have your cake and eat it, too :)

An organization does not become a religious organization because it labels itself as such and/or because its officials wear a cassock. It becomes a religious organization because it behaves like a religious organization.

I believe that icj1 is being coy. He knows very well what SOC is.

And why should they not organize protests?

Why should they not organize civil disobedience?

It's a free and democratic country and SOC would be negatively affected.

The trouble with all you guys who grew up on Communism is that you are all still very confused in life.

You believe just because something is a Church that it cannot not enter a civil area of debate or even politics.

Where exactly does it say this? Please educate us.

This is Communist and athietic philosophy that you all grew up. You don't really know better.

In the USA, the Church enters civil discussion all the time Politics too. You misunderstand what "separation of church and State means." You should all go back to school.

Th Roman Catholic Church is involved in many areas of political activity. In fact they are a State with political emisaries and Secrataries who lobby countries. The council of Bishops routinely enters the discussion about whether a war is justified or not.

In fact the Catholic Church has developed a concept of Just War:

It's also pretty clear that the most powerful force in the country (the SOC) would call for nationwide strikes, mass protest, and civil disobedience.

Well, I asked a question what SOC meant since our dear friend factman did not clarify it. I did not give any expertise or opinion.

However, your answer to my question does not make any sense! I don't think our dear friend factman meant the Serbian Orthodox Church when he/she wrote "SOC", since a religious organization is not in the business of calling nationwide strikes, mass protest, and civil disobedience over constitutional changes - that's the business of a political organization.

Unless, of course, God disagrees with the proposed constitutional changes, in which case it would make sense for the church to make sure that God's wish is taken into account lol

You can't remove Kosovo from the preamble without a referendum. This is why vucic is talking about consensus! 63% of Serbia says Kosovo is independent so the referendum removing Kosovo should easily pass.

As he said, changing the constitution will require a broad consensus and it will not be done by vote in the Parliament (even though there are enough votes to make it happen).

This does not sound like a guy who is going to do it or even getting prepared to do it.

Therefore I don't really see why there is a congratulatory tone below or some preparation for a "final blow" (very dramatic and over-the-top writings)

If he was going to change it, he'd be quiet and just do it. Or he'd say I'm going to do it.

It's pretty clear that he will not do it unilaterally. And that he does not wish to be known in history as the guy who does it. And that he realizes that the population is opposed (perhaps even a majority).

Additionally, there is no mandate as it wasn't even a topic of the election.

It's also pretty clear that the most powerful force in the country (the SOC) would call for nationwide strikes, mass protest, and civil disobedience.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Those who are against it know just how easy it is to exploit the issue and manipulate the population against it.

Kosovo is an illegal, isolated and impoverished hell hole that's ruled by terrorists, gangsters and organ traffickers. It has no future!!
(So sad, too bad, 19 May 2016 21:55)

Isolated what do you mean? What does Serbia have as more freedom that Kosovo does not? Visa free ....

As for gangsters Serbia is ruled by same gangsters it was once in 1998/1999 just Milosevic is dead but his Party is long living and Sesels protege is leading. Speak about Gangsters and Dacic is known to be connected and is one.

So Not sure why you are sad for as Serbia is in same condition and if it's such a hell hole why are Serbs so hang up about it.
