"P.S. Some 65% of the Russians including myself dream of the Soviet times to be back. We weren’t oppressed as you think. Life was strict but the regime was good. Much better than in Enver’s Albania. "

Don't complain. Russian life is not so strict any more, but the Putin regime is good. Much better than in Venezuela, or in Kim's North Korea. About Castro's Cuba I'm not so sure any more now :)

Rote, with your small portions of poison you poured on the mainstream historiography, you almost killed my (not strong unfortunately) religion! Then I resolved to stick to both, Fomenko and Jesus, somehow.
Ostalgie, huh? Well, you wouldn't believe it, but there are many Albos who would cry out loud on Enver's grave today...I'm not one of those. Of course, the USSR was not Enver's Albania, we all knew that. Thanks Rote, I wish the best to the Russian people as well. As my father replied when I asked him why the heck he and his generation loved so much Russians - they have loved us so much! So good to know that today's Russians still wish us good luck :) Stay strong!

Actually Serbia got 18th place, but in the televotes it got 11th. It was the juries which penalized it and brought it down - some say purposely to cancel out the Serbian diaspora and neighbor votes.
Now the British tabloids are smearing Sanja's name claiming she was stalking one of the guys in their duet. But he is probably a little gay dude anyways. The Brit press has been anti-Serb since WWII, and worked hard to put Serbia under communist occupation.

The cradle of the Russian people was Vladimir-Suzdal Rus established by St. Andrey Bogoliubski aka Andronic I Komnin. Next important was Kazan. Capitols of Russia were as follows Suzdal, Vladimir, Kostroma, Veliki Novgorod (Yaroslavl) and Moscow. Kiev has never been any cradle of the Russia. This idea appeared first in Kievan Synopsis, 1674 that launched the falsification of the Russian history. Yet this version of our history still prevails. But if you talk about the Mongol invasion first mentioned in the Synopsis many Russians will ask for a single proof. Don’t even try as we have not a single dissertation about it. Simply because there’s nothing to write about. Kiev was an important city of the Russians but there were 10 more cities of the same importance like Smolensk, Astrakhan ect.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kievan_Synopsis

Odessa is a Russian city as you know. Ukrainians aka village western Russians started to settle there after WW2 when many Jews were evacuated and stayed at their new places. There are two Arnautskaya streets in Odessa. This city was glorified by a dozen of successful Jewish actors who settled in Moscow and created this myth. I was twice there and found an ordinary industrial Russian city with a port.

P.S. Some 65% of the Russians including myself dream of the Soviet times to be back. We weren’t oppressed as you think. Life was strict but the regime was good. Much better than in Enver’s Albania.

Good luck!

Totally agree with Peggy, Ukraine didn't deserve to win. A Russian friend of mine told me that Crimean Tatars are having so much fun singing Xhemile's song in a ironic way...

Something was definitely fishy. Ukraine didn't deserve to win and in my opinion didn't deserve to be in the top 5.
I thought that politics were not allowed on stage but since it was allowed in this instance we could safely assume that Ukraine was going to get the sympathy vote.
I love Russia and Serbia but taking bias out of it in my opinion Australia had the best song followed by Belgium, Austria, Russia and Cyprus.

That has nothing to do with politics. We are talking to songs. Russian song was poor, i don't even remember it, Albanian song was better. The Austalian song was the real winner in my opinion. But Ukrainian song gave to me to much emotions. I got chills listening to her.

Rote, don't get me wrong though. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people, unfortunately, who would want to wipe Russia off the face of to world, mainly some of your ungrateful coward neighbors. But who cares about them, frankly? Look, unfortunately my comments aren't that interesting, and I can be a really boring being, I think. But here is the best article I ever read on this topic http://russia-insider.com/en/eurovision-russia-got-much-deserved-slap-face/ri14342 I hope you like it, I laughed a lot :)

Rote, I know what it means when your own people has been under pressure for such a long time. Nobody can understand your position as Albos, and maybe Serbs, can. For the last two decades we have depicted as the uncivilized Albos, the drug dealers, etc. Some of us deservedly so, others just because of Europeans' arrogance. There's a risk, I want to say, that even the best man in the world could become paranoic, if one has been under pressure for such a long time. You Russians shouldn't be doing the same mistakes we balkaneros have done in the past. Americans don't give a sh* frankly about the Eurosong, as do decent Europeans. I didn't like Jamaila's song and forced myself to hear it once, blushing. Maybe other people liked her song, can't really tell frankly. Xhemilja was so pathetic and the song was a stupid whining on a lie, in my opinion. I don't think Vucic has the time to think about Jamaila and Sergej's songs, but who knows, maybe you're right. Interesting, Malarasija, huh? Well, all I know is that Kiev is a 'cradle' of the Russian Orthodoxy, am I wrong? The Kievan Rus. There is an Arnautskaya Ulica in Odessa, have no idea what the heck did the Albos in order to deserve such a honor ;)

I cared only how peoples will vote for Russia though I think low about the festival itself. Most important for me were several states with Ukraine at the head and I was pleased much to have 10-12 from them. Serbs were among them while Vucic had to show his real face. Was surprised by the Albanian and Croatian governments to give us 7-8. But most important was Ukraine where the Russian people came from. Ukraine is a Polish name of two Russian lands Novorossia and Malorossia. Most people even in Russia interpret Malorossoa as Small Russia. In fact every Russian in this vast state has two motherlands. The big one (Russia) and a small one (his own birth place) so Malorossia is the place where the Russian people came from. Thus it means Small Motherland of the Russians. That’s why we take it all so close. Anyway peoples of the continent proved to be smarter than what their media thik. It was quite predictable that Russia will have a high rating so the Americans activated All The King’s Men with Vucic among them. This unmasking success I consider most important. Everybody in Europe showed who is who.

SERBIAN VOTING :

PEOPLE - 12
VUCIC - 1

THAT'S WHY RUSSIA DOES NOT TRUST THIS GOVERNMENT. COMPARE WITH UKRAINE'S VOTING :

PEOPLE - 12
POROSHENKO - 1

EVEN THE CROAT AND ALBANIAN GOVERNMENTS GAVE MORE - MUCH MORE!

P.S. I DON'T CARE THIS GAY STRIPTEASE SHOW AND THE VOTING IS THE ONLY THING THAT WAS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR ME. ESPECIALLY THE UKRAINE.
