He did not choose his genetic makeup, it was determined at conception. He chose his religious affiliation.

Otherwise you weren’t the only Albanians on this beautiful planet while Serbs were elite Albanians. Unfortunately none of them thinks so ... yet! Finally Kusturica is a very good Serb even better than myself.

Today I am changing my internet name. From this day on I am calling myself Elite Albanian.

Shqiptars were a national minority in the Osman Empire. Considering the Arabs you merely made 1-2%. During Suleiman Qanuni the multinational state was divided for 3 main Milliets - the Muslim the Orthodox and the Catholic. Orthodox people and only them were considered Romans. Greek patriarchs always headed this multinational group called millet-i Rûm. Jews, Copts, Armenians and Druz were also granted a Milliet status. Shqiptars did not enjoy such a privilege. Simply because your people was divided among the 3 mentioned main milliets. In a great degree it caused the self-identification problems. Of course you are not eagles and you are not north-west Russians to be called Albanians. Yet you can be called Albanians if the meaning of the word is correct. In old times many peoples got their names after their military commander’s names or geographic places. From this point Shqiptars can quite be called Albanians i.e. people of the White Horde. As well as one can call you human beings or Europeans. It means that not only you but all other peoples of the region who all were part of the White Horde can be called Albanians. So were the Russians, Hungarians and all Slavic peoples including the Romanians and the Moldovans. Most likely same were the Shqiptars. Otherwise you weren’t the only Albanians on this beautiful planet while Serbs were elite Albanians. Unfortunately none of them thinks so ... yet! Finally Kusturica is a very good Serb even better than myself.

Serbs were a sort of Russians while Serbian language was the only official language of the world empire. So when an official document from Britain to Germany or from Portugal to Iran was sent it was always written in Serbian language called Slovenski known as сербский извод церковно-славянского языка in Russia. It deffered form the common old Russian and the Russian Khans imposed it on their nobility. Ordinary people here equally spoke two languages – common (old) Russian and Turkic. So were the names Simeon Bekbulatovic, Ivan Ahmedov, Maria Sharapova/Sharif ect. Most often Russians had two names – one church name and a Turkic name for common use. So were the Sultans who belonged to the Tverskie Kniaz/Khan dynasty who all spoke their Serbian/Slovenski language. It was different from the current Serbian spoiled by one Austrian sellout. That old original Serbian language dominated in the court of Sultans + the Court of Constantinople + was diplomatic language of the empire. Later in 18-19 centuries Greek language became diplomatic. Importance of the Turkic people in Osmania/Atamania increased only during Tanzimat times of 1839-1918 while roles of the Slavs and the Greeks fell down. Shqips were split among Muslim, Catholic and Orthodox/Roman Milliets. So when liberated it was a problem who must be considered Shqips and where their lands were. Serbs had no such problems because like the Russians one could not be a Serb if he weren’t an Orthodox.
