Membership in the EU is a strategic goal. Serbia readies itself for membership in the EU because eligibility depends on changes Serbia must make even if it is not interested in EU membership. How many EU members would now be eligible to join if they were not already members?

Serbia is in good shape and getting better. The EU needs Serbia more than Serbia needs the EU and the EU needs Kosovo as an independent state like it needs a hole in the head. The EU's sadistic preoccupation with an Albanian run Kosovo is one of many fatal flaws in the political makeup of the EU.

Retaining the territory of Kosovo is not a strategic goal, it is a vital part of the integrity of the Serbian people. Kosovo as Serbian territory is also a vital part of the integrity of Europe, but Europe's mind is too poisoned to admit it.

Those without legal residency papers should be treated like the EU treats illegals.

The rule of law must be paramount.

Good let us kick out a Serb from the north who is part of Kosovo government born in Croatia. Born in Croatia so what is he doing in Kosovo.

Serbia wanted to kick Albanians out and took their documents but was slapped. If Montenegro does nto want to live with Serbia, if Bosnians dont want why would Albanians who do nt share language or anything with Serbs.

whatever the serb grave-digger President says about their constituional prample is completly irrelevant, and only hot air for domestic consumption. Fact is

Very gutsy for an Albanian to mention anything about cemeteries since they are known as the most prolific grave digging robbers and cemetery copper thieving group of people living in today's world. That's a fact!!!

The legal Albanian inhabitants of the province of Kosovo must be treated like all other citizens of Serbia, no more and no less.

No discrimination will be tolerated.

Those without legal residency papers should be treated like the EU treats illegals.

The rule of law must be paramount.

Nikolic should join AU (African Union) then.

Nikolic mentions it because if there is a change to the constitution, and there would only be minor amendment, the preamble which states that Kosovo is part of Serbia will remain unchanged. Talking about a possible amendment does not mean that Serbia will remove the preamble or give up its rights to Kosovo.
What you need Serbia to do is officially recognise an independent Kosovo as sovereign state. But it’s never going to happen.
I’ll will ask you one question. What is more valuable to Brussels? Serbia or Kosovo?
There are things in the Brussels agreement which undermine the Pristina government and the EU forced your President to sign off on it. Albanians are not demonstrating and throwing rock and tear gas for nothing.

63% of Serbia according to ipsos says Kosovo is independent so when vucic schedules his referendum which the Wall Street journal quoted him as wanting Serbia will easily vote to remove Kosovo from its constitution. Major eu members like germsny are clear that Serbia is never getting in the eu with a claim to Kosovo in its constitution.

Nobody cares what serbs think about Kosovo yet you feel the need to comment on the issue. Seems like albanians are unsure about their independent Kosovo creation since you have to come here every day to confirm Kosovo's status to everyone else.

@SJ

The fact that your president is talking about it, definitely yields a change in the constitution regarding Kosovo. If Kosovo is not going to be in the conversation of change in the constitution, why would Nikolicker even talk aout it? Perhaps, to grease the wheels as ee can tell.

Wow ....You really think whatever you say matters ? Kosovo will never go back to Serbia and ur words dont mean anything
(Robert Manjani, 9 May 2016 10:05)
If you know that Kosovo will never go back to Serbia why are you here on a Serbian-based media site telling Serbs that? Surely if Nikolic’s words are meaning less why the big concern?
Its sounds more like people like you are very concerned that this stance will be accepted by the EU. Sadly for you I hate to burst your bubble, but Brussels will do just that.

whatever the serb grave-digger President says about their constituional prample is completly irrelevant, and only hot air for domestic consumption. Fact is that the EU repeatatly stated that it will not allow a country to join which has territorial disputes with it's neighbors. THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE!!! All EU members agree on that, which means Serbia either gives up it's claim on Kosovo, or simply forgets it's plans to become a EU member state. It is as simple as that, and all the nonsense arguments here from the serb national front about this subject are ridicules. Nobody will listen to your crying. Take it or leave it.
