Joni : I trust just my own taste!

You are not an Albanian because you are not a Russian. Also you are not a shqiptar because you are not a bird. Now tell me if it’s not interesting for you who you and your children are and who your ancestors were? Russian history was written in 18 century by 3 Germans ( Miller, Bayer, Schlotzer) and then some other Germans wrote history for all Balkan peoples. One of them was mob Heinrich Schliemann who cleaned place around Olympus and who “found” Troja. Then he came to Russia and created the history of Odessa and Crimea. Do you like such history. Then explain how could small Portugal and small Seville divide the whole word in 1494 and nobody minded it? Neither Russia, nor the Ottomans, nor Britain, nor France, nor Germany - nobody! Moreover the Popes 3 times made their Bullas to approve the deal that remained valid for centuries.

THOSE ARE HORDE’S MONUMENTS. THEY CAN BE FOUND ALL OVER THE WORLD – IN USA, IN LATIN AMERICA , RUSSIA, GREECE, EUROPE, JAPAN, CHINA – EVERYWHERE WHERE OU HAND REACHED. IF YOU NEED THEM SEEK FOR “OLD BUILDINGS” LIKE “ISTANBUL OLD BUILDINGS” YOU WILL FIND THEM WHERE YOU DO NOT EXPECT – INDIA, AFRICA – EVERYWHERE!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollonia_(Illyria)

MAYBE THE GREEKS TOOK PART IN CONSTRUCTION BECAUSE THEY WERE THE TOP BRAHMANS OF THE EMPIRE. BUT IN GENERAL THOSE ARE HORDE’S BUILDINGS. IN 1821 IN PANTHEON THERE WAS A MOSQUE OF MARIAM SURROUNDED BY HUNDREDS OF PRIVATE HOUSES AND MINARETS. EVERYTHING WAS CLEANED BY PEOPLE LIKE HEINRICH SCHLIEMAN AND THEN THEY SAID IT WAS OLIMPUS … THIS IS HOW THE OLDENBURGS WROTE OUR HISTORY.

Below are the main kingdoms of the Great Horde in mid-16 century. Many colonies in Asia (Japan, Burma, Vietnam) in America (Canada, USA, Mexico, Chile ...) in Africa (Sudan, Egypt, Magrib ...) and in Europe (Britain, central Germany, Sweden...) were included later. In every colony the Horde installed imperial colomns like in Palmira and it gave birth to word COLONIALISM.

So, Rote, ‘Albanians’ seem to be a generic term for people belonging to the White Horde, which makes sense to me. In the Middle Ages we were called “Arbers’ and ‘Arvanites’, and after the Ottoman occupation the term ‘shqiptars’ prevailed. Obviously, after 5 centuries of Ottoman rule, we were not the same ‘Albanians’ we were before, the Ottomans reshaped the Balkans’ demographic composure, a lot of people converted to Islam, many of the original ‘Albanians’ fled to Greece and Italy. Those who fled to Italy were obliged to ‘unite’ themselves to Pope’s church, hence the Greek Catholic or the Uniate Church of the Albanian diaspora in Italy. Who disagreed was killed, btw. Loved the fact that Kirill and Francis finally addressed the issue and clearly condemned Uniatism. Those who fled to Greece obviously were not obliged to nothing and became an important part of the Greek War of Independence. There are so many Albos who are pretty aware of who we were and who we became, Rote, but if you look at the map, we have been and will always be the very first outpost of the East, and living in that area can be pretty difficult, pretty hard, some time. One could always be tempted to leave...

Drymades : And 'bujar' is the Alb word

It sounds quite natural as you were part of the Horde and then of the Ottomans that before 17 century were south wing of the Horde. Meanwhile Boyars/Bujars were top aristocrats of the Horde as it was a MILITARY STATE. The only consultee border by the Great Kniaz/Tsar’s side was the Boyar Duma. They knew the situation in every part of the world. Boyar title could not be passed to sons and everyone had to earn it on a battlefield. Plus most Boyars were kniazes as well and were relatives to the Great Kniaz/Khan.

In one of the two comments deleted by b92 I wrote that Shqiptars must have been part of the Horde. And it was 19-th century when the Oldenburgs decided who will be who. Some were appointed Albanians, some Greeks, some Romanians, some Bulgarians ect. Like the Caucasus, Crimea and Anatolia the Balkans were a crossroad of the world and people who lived here got mixed so it’s hard to say who was who. On old maps Rumelia/Romania was written where Bulgaria is now while Bulgaria was written where Serbia and Macedonia are.

Albanians mentioned all over the world from America to Britain meant people from the White Horde that included north of Germany, Poland, Baltic shore, Finland. Sweden, Norway, north west of Russia, Prussia, Byelorussia, part of Ukraine, Austria, Britain, Spain ect. where Alba meant “white”. It was the main of the hordes and it was them to decide if a new horde was to be established somewhere.

And 'bujar' is the Alb word for an aristocratic leader and/or a generous man, which obviously derives from 'boyar'. Rote, I would be tempted to declare myself a former Russian ljudi from the White Horde right away. I guess that's mainly because of my unconditional love for Russian people. But I would also call upon Alb historians to carefully read Fomenko. Being off topic as always, but let's wish Alexandra will have a great time there in Palmira :)

b92 hates long comments so you cannot read half of my comments. Anyway I stick to Fomenko’s version that the Byzantine emperor Andronicus I Komnin aka the Great Kniaz Andrey Bogoliubski aka Apostle Andrew were one man later called by the Greeks as Jesus Christ. And I am rather sceptic about some of the things our church tells us. Yesterday I went to … http://www.trinity-church.ru/ … I love this old church in the center of Moscow. Among the others I lit a candle before an old icon of some St. Dmitry Rostovsky. … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimitry_of_Rostov … But when I came home and looked in the web I was disappointed. This man was one of the tools of the Catholics who in 17-19 centuries changed the Orthodox books and history. I tried to poison people here with small portions not to kill them. Though no one cared what I felt about the battle where Russian Saint Dmitry Donskoy was declared a Muslim Murat-1. Or when word Albanians was used not for the Russians from the White Horde (the main one) but for another people. When Horde’s governors on Balkans were declared kings like Stefan Uroš IV Dušan from Nemanici dynasty. UROS means RUSSIAN while NEMAN is a river in Byelorussia where the White Horde was. By the way all old Russian and Serbian saints belonged to the top elite. None of them was poor and most of them were professional warriors – Boyars. But now we are told that they got saintness not for their combat achievements but for prayer.

Thanks for summing up, Rote. But, but, if there were different versions of Christianity, and I'm fine with that, who was the Byzantine Empire's Jesus? Because there can't be different versions of Jesus, unless we admit that Jesus himself had become a metaphoric term for any military leader in a given community...on the other hand, Jesus, as He is described in our church tradition, could only be a Jew...that's essential to our belief. Despite the fact that actually our icons' Christ doesn't look like a Jew at all.

Rote: the Alb 'stan' is the place where the shepherd typically gathers his flock. A crowded place is also called a 'stan'. What about any possible connection between 'mir' as the Slavic word for 'peace' or the Alb word for 'good, well' and 'myrrh' the Hebrew and/or Arabic word for the fragrant resin we use in the church? They aren't synonyms, it is clear, but they are all connected since they all describe a state of well-being, don't you think? If I only could count all my old Alb friends called Mirjan, Mirjana, Miran, Ermira, Emirjona, Admir... but this doesn't mean that 'Illyrians' founded the Great Horde, obviously. But it might imply that our predecessors were a natural part of it. Which you already know. For the 'palm' as part of the hand, we have our beautiful Alb word 'pellemb'. The same root, 'pllam' in northern dialect. Yes, Fomenko is probably right but I need some rakija here and some Albanian rhymes 'moj raki moj bukuroshe, qe me hedh qoshe me qoshe' - O rakia o beautiful girl, you make me throw myself from an angle to another!!! Rote, I like Fomenko because his theory provides the only logical explanation for the lack of historic sources that mention Albanians before the 12th-13th centuries. We were there, don't know exactly where, but we never told any fairy tales to each other and to the world. With two words, vashi ljudi, Rote :)

Palmira was a Christian center but there were several VERY DIFFERENT versions of Christianity :

1/ Byzantine one called the Greek Belief appeared long before Jesus was born in Crimea in 1152 and executed in 1185 in Jerusalem ( Yoros) , Turkey. …. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoros_Castle .... and buried on nearby Beikos hill … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beykoz … in … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua%27s_Hill

2/ Famiy (or Royal) Christianity of the Rurikovici Dynasty to which Andronicus I Komnin aka Jesus Christ had belonged. Their young Georgy Danilovic aka St.George created the Great Horde and seized half Europe. After he was killed in 1318 his brother Ivan aka Bati Khan aka Vatican finished the job. Their Christianity made role of Jesus central but it wasn’t wide spread as it was family religion of the ruling dynasty later called the PAGANS and the FIRST CHRISTIANS.

3/ In 1370 prince Dmitry Ivanovic of the Ruricovici split away and established the Apostolic Christianity. It caused a 40 years civil war during which prince Dmitry I aka Murad I was killed on Kosovo field. Apostolic Christianity run that Jesus made equal all people unlike the pagans who said that as their ancestor Jesus was God then all the Rurikovici were gods too although smaller ones.

4/ In 1613 the Lutheran Romanovs seized power in Moscow but other hordes all over the world refused to obey them. So were the Ottomans who now needed a religion of their own - Islam.

Secondly, the Croats began shelling the JNA behind the Dubrovnik walls to incite the JNA to fire back. Dirty war, dirty politics and a dirty politician Djukanovic is still the leader of Montenegro.

Drymades : “etymology of the word 'Palmyra”

Slav words almost always have meanings. Say Hindustan or Pakistan or any other “stan” – all are Russian words place or name of a Cossack ataman + стан (place of stop) or становиться, останавливаться (to stop) or станица (Cossack village) ect.Медведь (мёд ведать = know where honey is) is the Russian for “bear” that in English means nothing but bear. Ottoman is a westernized ATAMAN (Cossack commander) where Turkic ATA was added with Slavic MAN.

So are words PALMA and MIR. ПАЛКА (stick ), ПАЛЕЦ (small stick, finger ), ПАЛЬМА ( пальцев много = many fingers ) have the same basic word. Some believe that initial word was PALM (TREE) while in fact it was PALM as part of the hand. Word «МИР» have two meanings = peace = world. In old Russian those were two different words written different as «мър» (world) and «мiр» (peace). But here we have word PEACE.

No matter what Palmira means on other languages it was built in the middle ages by the Slavic Sultans. As you must know there were two sorts of Slav Sultans - the Egyptians and the Osmans/Ottomans. Both of them had Russian routes but 500 years ago (this august) in the battle near Aleppo (Syria) the Egyptians were defeated by Selim-1. Which of the two has built Palmira is a question. I suppose that both of them. The Cherkassy Mamelukes of Egypt started the job and Suleiman Selimovic the Magnificent aka King Solomon finished it.

Palmira as they say was built to meet the caravans moving through the desert. But it’s a total BS cause to do this you need a caravanserai only! And you don’t need the fantastic amphitheater, the temples and the castles. Palmira complex is a copy of the Baalbek in Lebanon while the antic Belbek still exists in Crimea. Baalbek and Palmira like the Pyramids of Egypt have almost no signs of the people that lived here as very few people lived here permanently to watch after the complex. But then again where’s the wall around the city as it always happened in the past? There are only fences around the temples that had no defense functions. Some Russian experts insist that Palmira and Baalbek were built of geo-polymer concrete in the Middle Ages. It explains the Slav toponims and absence of city walls. Because there was nobody to defend the city against as nobody dared to threaten the Great Horde. Palmira is a Slav name composed of two words ПАЛЬМА МИРА = PALM OF PEACE. Same are most names of the places (Balgora = Белa гора) and the temples ( Baal God = Бели Бог or Бог Белых) ect. So it would be nice if the b92 correspondent checks it all. Enough would be to see the columns and the monuments destroyed by the ISIS. Many of them have steel armature inside that is impossible for the Bronze Age. It means that the complex was built in the middle ages and that “ancient” king Solomon in fact was Sultan Suleiman (Солиман) the Magnificent who was a Christian and spoke Slovenski.

I remember when war broke out in Syria and Albanians were bragging how they were training forces opposed to Assad. Now we can see the fruits of that training. Very typical, destroying and desecrating world cultural and heritage sites, burning churches and killing anyone who shares different beliefs. The KLA/Albanians and ISIL have very much in common.

Interesting insight, Rote. Just to add some intrigue to the etymology of the word 'Palmyra', i/e mire means 'good' in Alb language, so Palma e Mire would be 'the good palm' in Albanian, which is another way to call Palmyra a 'Palm of Peace' :)

rote

pre 8 godina
