The UK government is saying that it is doing all it can to help despite it leading a blocking minority in the EU to impose very heavy import tariffs on Chinese steel.
The US has imposed tariffs of ~329%
China wants to buy a plant in Serbia that no-one else wants but Serbia is in the EU. Maybe making Smederevo a powerhouse to export to a toothless EU is the plan.
