The person who traveled with a suitcase to African kingdoms and tropical island states, and who returned without that very suitcase, was the honorable gentleman Mr. Pacolli (who made his 100s of millions with some dubious deals and contracts in Russia under Yelzin, btw).
(Comm. Parrisson, 8 March 2016 10:37)

Comm. Parrisson,
That is a convenient assumption you cannot substantiate. You are simply employing the age old Serb practice of muddying the waters. It was our "learned" friend, Smart Serb that stated the U.S. and the EU paid bribes to small nations to recognize Kosova.
It appear Smart Serb isn't so smart after all. He utilized the age old Serb practice of speaking out of his ass. In the future I suggest both of you educate yourselves so as not to be embarrassed publicly by making fools of yourselves.

p.s. I suppose you think Pacolli also took suitcases full of cash to the governments the U.S, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and other powerful nations in order to bribe them to recognize Kosova. Perhaps you should lay off that cheap slivovica.

Good. Nationalists hold most of the Balkans hostage. They are the forces that keeps the whole region 20 years behind the rest of Europe like any conservative political ideology.

P.S: The US and EU have other methods for influencing countries to make certain decisions.
(Comm. Parrisson, 8 March 2016 10:37)

Similarly to Russia (see Georgia or Ukraine as examples). Few countries would care about Kosovo or Serbia and all of them would do whatever is in their interest, not necessarily Serbia's or Kosovo's interest. 'Principled positions' is international relations are naive fantasies!

"Why would the U.S. and the EU bribe other countries to recognize Kosova, unless you believe in conspiracy theories. It simply does not make sense."
(EU Citizen 8 March 2016 07:25)

Indeed it doesn't make sense. The person who traveled with a suitcase to African kingdoms and tropical island states, and who returned without that very suitcase, was the honorable gentleman Mr. Pacolli (who made his 100s of millions with some dubious deals and contracts in Russia under Yelzin, btw). This 'businessman' was later rewarded by Thaci for his merits with a minister job, if I remember correctly.

To Balkan Anthropologist,

Let's not forget that the U.S and EU bribed some poorer nations with money and lies.
Most of these nations have no interest or connection with Albanians in the Serbian Province of Kosovo. But hey!!!!! For currency they will agree to anything.
This is the only way the U.S and EU can justify getting recognition for an illegal breakaway.
BRIBERY!!!!!!

Smart Serb,
Why would the U.S. and the EU bribe other countries to recognize Kosova, unless you believe in conspiracy theories. It simply does not make sense. I'd understand If you believed Albanians paid bribes to get recognitions, but Serbs like sj are constantly mentioning on B92 how poor Albania and Kosova are. So then, who could supposedly be paying these bribes. I hope you now realize how foolish you and other anti-independence Serbs sound. The sooner you accept Kosova's independence, the sooner you will free yourself of the agony you feel each time the topic comes up.

From Selimi: "our people need to know that they have not been forgotten by European leaders in Brussels, Berlin and London, and that our European perspective, and eventual EU and NATO membership, is real."

Hey Selimi, don't worry, your people make sure they are not forgotten every time they desecrate a Serb cemetery, vandalize a Serb church or house or attack defenseless elderly Serbs.

"Secretary Kerry has noted in a recent visit to Kosovo, that Kosovars are the regional leaders in combating violent extremism and promotion of interfaith dialogue," Selimi wrote"

Might be, but why? Because it's most needed:
- We read in other articles published in British media that the number of Kosovo citizens per capita is the highest in Europe(or was it the whole world) when it comes to join IS/ISIS.
- KPS is combating 'violent extremism' when it comes to throwing tear gas in the assembly or attacking Thaci's clan/party members. When the very same 'self terminators' commit crimes against Serbs and Serb property, KPS stays away silently.

"Election of the former Prime Minister Thaci as President-elect of Kosovo in our National Assembly last Friday was vital to the democratic process."

This is the joke of the day! How can someone with a sane mind think that electing a corrupt (ex?)-mafia boss, ex-terrorist and alleged war criminal as a president can be 'vital to the democratic process'? More than ridiculous.

Well said Petrit. I trust you and other young politicians more than those army veterans. Too bad you are in the wrong party. I wish you had the balls to stand up against criminal streams from PDK.

Balkan Anthropologist

Kosovo has been held hostage by nationalists since 1999. And where did 111 recognitions come in? Official count has it at 108 with even a few of those being in dispute. Unless Selimi's counting territories and other unrecognized entities, Albanians are, as always, a little fuzzy with numbers.
