Syrian president offers "full amnesty" to rebels

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has told German broadcaster ARD that those rebels who lay down their arms can expect "a full amnesty."

He should lay down his arms.

I wouldn't give him amnesty though.

One day he will face a criminal court.

I don't believe his offer.

His secret police would be taking people for years ahead.

If Russia is exerting its power to preserve his government, then they must show their power a bit further by replacing all those within that government who started and maintained violence against the Syrian people.

Russia may have the power, but that does not act as a justification for the despicable way in which the Assad mob have dictatorially held on to power all these years.
