From Brian: "Of course they aren't asking they are demanding. That's what "normalization" is! But a constitutional referendum is required."

What a surprise! Brian is talking about a referendum...AGAIN. The one-trick pony is at it again. Go get a life loser.

Sumadinac: Although you are right about Spain asserting a claim to the territory of Gibraltar, the fact of the matter is that the UK was a member of the EU many years before Spain joined. Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and Spain had to accept the status quo in order to join the EU. There was no dispute about who was governing the territory, just a desire on the part of Spain to change things, as there is on the part of Argentina to reclaim the Falklands. Neither Kosovo nor Serbia are currently members and there are numerous ongoing hotly disputed issues that, unless resolved, will delay accession for Serbia. The only way the EU will be able to juggle this is to have both 'countries' join at the same time otherwise the one that joins will permanently veto membership for the one that doesn't. This would also solve the issue of who exactly had joined should Serbia join alone.

"How can Serbia join the EU if 23 of those states won't consider Kosovo as a part of that accession and Serbia will? What territory exactly will be acceding to the Union?"

Well, Spain could join, couldn't it, and it still has a territorial dispute with the UK about Gibraltar.

I'm sure they'll come up with some asterisk ;).

How can Serbia join the EU if 23 of those states won't consider Kosovo as a part of that accession and Serbia will? What territory exactly will be acceding to the Union? It's not just an emotional or historically significant issue, it is a practical one in many ways. The EU has a separate accession process for Kosovo but most Serbs would consider that it was a part of the EU when they joined. How much of the accession funds does the Belgrade Government divert to the whole of Kosovo, not just the Serb dominated part? I suspect almost nothing which tells you everything about the reality.

If this article is true?,then Serbia will grow economically, and the infrastructure will as well, and the extra Germany company's ,that will be operating in Serbia is a plus.
So all the Shqipire's (Rocky's, Count's, Jihad Gjon's etc) bullsh*t stories ,that Serbia is a sinking and shrinking country, are only wish full thinking!.
Like I been stating for the last year,Serbia will see enormous grow, during it's difficult transactions,in the next 3-4 year's.
This articles say's it all, what Serbia needed to hear!

No one should be upset with Serbia's growth, but it has long way to go as all Balkan countries. People with good jobs make poor nationalist, so its a win / win for all, however people with empty stomach make great nationalist.

Look at Germany and France when their economic situation improved they became friends, and they have fought, killed, raped each other more than anyone.

Not sure why ppl in this forum try to bring eachother down, if Balkans corporate more economically just like after WWII western countries did they can move past 1990s bickering.

Look at Alzas in France it was German they have learned to look past
