And I thought there were sanctions on Russia LOL. Money does make the world go round and without gas the EU is screwed. Serbia has no need what so ever to worry about an emergency plan because Moscow already has one. One phone call to Brussels and its done. Serbia needs to develop a position of energy independence.

This is not an impossible option for Serbia because it has God-given advantages that other nations lack. For example, every home, school, factory, and office facility could have Photo-volataic cells on their roofs. Serbia has 150% more solar potential than Germany, Water heaters could also be put on roof tops; these are inexpensive and would replace the inefficient electric water boilers that every Serbian house has.

Serbia should also grow crops to produce alcohol to replace petrol for domestic vehicles. This is something that is done in Brazil and should be copied by Serbia.

Serbia should construct the Djerdap 3 hyro-electric dam. This single project would increase electricity production by 40%.

Serbia has its own oil and gas, but not enough for current needs. It should search Vojvodina and Banat for more reserves.

What fuel does the EU sell to Serbia? Last time I looked it was all Russian gas and oil. No the Russians will not give it away and nor should they and I never suggested that they would. Remember what people get for free they never respect.
However, it is Russia that sells energy to Europe and it is Russia that pulls the strings in the EU. The EU would collapse without Russian energy. It is Russia that gives guarantees of energy supplies to Serbia not Brussels.

Like most people in the nuthouse, sj is not to be intimidated by reality. However, normal Serbs will freeze without EU fuel. Russia can't sell its oil, at the going price, without loosing money since it costs more for them to get it out of the ground. And, sj thinks Russia will give it away to Serbia, free of cost. sj is fortunate to be living in Australia since he will not have to freeze there.

Better sign an agreement with Russia to provide gas for emergency situations. At least, the Russians produce it
