I was only using 150 Euros as an example. In fact officially its 350 euros per month in Serbia, but as I said many factories do not even pay that much. There are statutes and statutes on the books, but in the Balkans very few pay any attention to them. Corruption is a huge problem there. A few Euros in the right hands and you can have anything.
I don’t doubt that there are people in Romania who earn 1500 to 2000 euros per month, but these are in the minority. There are people that earn even more than that in Serbia, but as I said they are in the minority.
I have been to Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, BiH, Macedonia and they are all the same. That is why I say don’t pay any attention to GDP or PPP because it can be manipulated to read whatever you like.
Romania and Bulgaria have been in the EU for a long time, but they are not better off than Serbia.

There's a lot of irrelevant rubbish in these postings.

Did anyone actually read the report before writing?!

There are funerals to take place soon, and I think it respectful to keep that in mind rather than deviating into the usual bigotries or into discussions about pay.

" A mistake was made ", do Serbian lives really matter to Satan? Yesterday Serbian President and Serbian Prime Minister sign a treaty with NATO and today two Serbian mothers cry profoundly for their Dear Children. The Children of Serbia, are they only some ones Son or Daughter or are they Brothers and Sisters of all us Serbian people? What are the signs from God, does any body know? How can we Serbian people not know or understand when God speaks to us? The reason that Serbia lives today is that for the innocent ones who have been murdered and lost every thing in the past! Is Serbia the possession of a few who are privledged or is it the gift to all Serbian people from our ancient Fathers who paid with their sweat, blood and tears? I am only dust, I send you these post my Dear Serbian Brothers and Sisters only that it remind you Serbian lives do matter especially to God! So God and the signs of Divinity, can it be dismissed? One action creates the reaction, right? When will Serbia ever become United? Greka moga i tvoga, a nevjera tvoje tuga golema na srcu! God have mercy on us the innocent, our tears and blood stain all the Balkans! When will Serbia ever become liberated from the heavy chains placed upon our Serbian shoulders by the USA, England and Germany? As the very old tall Serbian soldier looked down upon tiny me his words I never forget " Bolje Grob Nego Rob "! Signs of God, open your eyes Serbia, stop entertaining the Devil!

To Mr. Adrian Sir:

A lot of negative comments on this Serbian web site, but I am glad that with the common English many can join and express what is on there mind! I was there, I know and I see, the average Romanian very good humanity and very hard and good working people! In my comments I only say that I see exploitation of humanity, the average worker in Romania paid too little for the amount in return that they provide! No tricks or games in my post to you Adrian, in the Balkans we are all Brothers of one tragedy, the tragedy of the heavy chains that laid upon our innocent shoulders! In reality my hope and prayers are for all humanity in the Balkans, we are all the children of ONE God! So the fight should not be amound our selves, our efforts in the Balkans need be combined to achieve massive advancements in the quality of life for every one no matter what race or religion! Yes respect profoundly the religions of all but we all pray in our individual understanding of faith and only ONE God to hear us all! So all you trols out there can hate me if you desire and wish, I for sure don't hate you and understand profoundly the situation today of ALL the Balkan peoples - Peace!!!

" On paper they have to pay 280 euros per month but if you or I want a job factory owners say they can only pay 150 Euros (example only) so take it or leave it. Owners bribe the authorities and nothing happens so workers get only 150 month. "

SJ => Educated people really take 1500 euro 2000 euro per month i have many friends like this and member of the family ! in factory if minimum is 280 nobody pay 150 euro because nobody would work actualy in a factory nobody take under 500 euro .

In Romania the average salary is low but even like this arrived at 500 euro in 2015 + big grow in 2016 because some regions are very poor + 50% of Romania are villages .

I am happy that you told me those things , it means in Serbia is big poverty

+ in Bucharest educated competitive people earn 1500-2000 euro per month , are many people as this

I think even in Belgrade someone educated take 800-900-1000 euro per month
(adrian_bucharest, 23 February 2016 12:09)

It depends what you mean by "competitive" , to give you an example an average monthly salary for a nurse in Greece is 1000-1400 Euros per month, that same nurse in Croatia, Romania or Serbia is not in that range, probably 600-1000 Euros.

I fail to see what your comment has to do with the return of bodies of Serbian staffers from Libya.
Romania, Serbia or Bulgaria or the entire Balkans for that matter, they all have enough statues on the books to choke a horse 10 times over, but it’s a question of if anyone obeys those laws and from what I have seen in those countries political corruption and nepotism is the only law that is obeyed.
What Dragoljub said is correct about sweat shops in Romania. On paper they have to pay 280 euros per month but if you or I want a job factory owners say they can only pay 150 Euros (example only) so take it or leave it. Owners bribe the authorities and nothing happens so workers get only 150 month.
If Romanian educated get 1500-2000 euro per month why are so many seeking to leave the country? I have also been to Poland and it is a far better place than Romania and their educated are leaving their home lands to look for work.
Forget IMF or GDP or PPP. Its all BS just like US level of unemployment being at 4.9% when its 23%.

For Dragoliub Djurkovic

" Yes a few German factories ( sweat shops ) where the poor Romanian humanity is treated like garbage and paid just enough to live from one day to the next! "

Dragoliub , there is a new law that those capitalist supermarkets and factory have to pay beside minimum salary that will be 280 euro from 1 may more 50 euro of food tickets and more 50 euro at salary . So a supermarket cannot pay under 280 euro + 50 euro food tickets + 50 euro => 380 euro per month wich is enough for live 30 days decent . Actualy in Bucharest they pay 500 euro and even more .

+ in Bucharest educated competitive people earn 1500-2000 euro per month , are many people as this

I think even in Belgrade someone educated take 800-900-1000 euro per month

Dragoliub i can`t wait for new statistic of IMF for gdp per capita !
