That is my point. How do you think such attitudes get into a system? Lack of motivation, challenge, and responsibility, all management problems. I also have years of experience of this Serbian system (living in Serbia), but I am not from Serbia I know how things work in other countries (I have lived in three different western european countries). It is very bad in Serbia but that's my point, how did these people get the jobs (and keep them) if they are so useless? I know people in Serbia who have directly complained to managers about such attitudes (in the situation of one person just reading a newspaper while another attends to long queues), the (seemingly educated) manager said "I completely understand you, but if I fire them, they will be back the next day"... It's not that workers in UK etc are magically better than in Serbia, it's an organisational issue, and the responsibility for that lies on the managers and ultimately the politicians who appoint them.

Anyway, we're moving away from the pensioners here... so I'll leave it at that.

And who's jobs do you think will go? The politically appointed workers, or those who actually do the work? I know (hard working) people in state companies, and I assure you that it is not them with the permanent jobs... and it's not them for which jobs are invented so that they are given one (even during the period of no employment).

Of course, you can read all about how these reforms are working from Vucic in the media, but that does not translate to what is actually happening.

I live in Serbia, and can tell you staff employed in government jobs work at 20% compared to staff in government job's in Britain, Australia .The Serb government staff are like taxi's on a Friday or Saturday night in Sydney or London, hard to find when you need one!!.I have a lot of detailing with Serb government section's and staff,90℅ are lazy ,rude, and don't even know how to do their job, when a different situation arises!.So please don't tell me about them.Private employed staff give you better service's than Western countries!.
P'S I have been 2 1/2 years detailing with these government moron's,and watch them reading newspapers, and internet, while I argue about their job performance (Water,Electricity, Land titles office,Immigration office,MUP,etc, etc)They can't even get their job done properly!.

Even if i criticise Serbs i agree with Sasa

Minimum pension is really 150 euro and minimum salary really 180 euro . In Serbia .

Under this money you cannot live .

Ya when the average working Serb wage is 1 euro hour, 8 euros a day, 40 euros a week, 160 euros a month. Even less after deductions taxes, bribes to get any kind of service etc. These old communist Serb pensioners that drained Ex Yugo are now draining financially poor Serbia. Don't even get me started with leeches bureaucrats and politicians their friends and families.

MINIMUM means lowers,or worst!.

Because as the country wastes (probably) millions of euros through politically motivated hiring of inappropriate people who do nothing constructive, they are quite happy to take money from pensioners who have worked all their lives. You are essentially saying that these pensioners shouldn't live comfortable lives, while many politically appointed 'workers' live on (relatively) high wages. There is far more waste in the country then pensioners getting a bit more money (which they will end up spending in the country anyway).
(UFO, 18 February 2016 19:52) # Comment link,

I agree with your comment about the hiring.By the end of the year 55,000 government job's will be slashed or gone ,and by the end of 2017 another 55,000 more government jobs will be gone .Private foreign companies are opening factories and firms during this time, and will be hiring staff.
That's why Vucic want's elections soon.People will not vote for Vucic in the near future if they will be loosing their job. After these elections, Vucic (if he wins) will be in power to 2020.
P'S halve of these healthy pensioners got their pension around the age of 50. Vucic Party will be looking into why healthy people got pension's in their age of 40's and 50's !

That's why under 200 Euro's as a pensioner you are just making end's meet. Anything over 200 Euro's ,say 400 Euro's you are living a comfortable lifestyle as a pensioner in Serbia.

From what would raise the pensions Vucic if Serbia had recension in 2014 , then anemic around 0% 2015 and 1% and someting in 2016 ? the question is from where ?

How good is that we have elections at end of 2016 , more important elections than presidential ones exactly when gdp had grow up 4% in 2015 and 5% in 2016 .

Thanks to the God i don`t live in Serbia because there is NO HOPE is a dead collapsed country

Not a big fun of Vucic, but reduction of pensions was the best decision he made.
For 15 years, pensions were risen before every single election in order for current party to gain points, and naturally the budget hit the cracking point.
Unfortunately pensioners are the major voting layer of Serbian society, turnout for the elections is usually around 55-60%.
Vucic won previous elections with a landslide, but because of the weak turnout he actually has around 25% of Serbian population supporting him.
I expect that prior to the next elections he will just raise pensions and repeat the cycle...

Vucic only reduced higher pensions payment's, not lower pension than 200 Euro's. That's to balance the book's, which he did, correctly .His own wage went down 10℅ too (don't forget).
Pensioners will vote for him,as they finally see some progress with his Political Party.
