Kosovo is not, and cannot become state - minister

Kosovo is not a state, there is no law and justice there neither for Serbs nor for Albanians, and not everyone who lives in the territory accepts it as a state.

Kosovo looks like an american colony, from an outsider's view..
(Domniq, 20 February 2016 14:18)

That's a very nice observation that confirms that Kosovo has achieved its goal of not being a Serbia's colony.

It looks like you need NATO to protect your people as per Vucic this week so how do you control the north?
(Blind Profet, 18 February 2016 13:10)

For the Serbs in the isolated ethnic ghettos below the Ibar, yes. The North is out of reach for Pristina and always will be. It may as well be on the moon. In 2011, ROSU units tried to take over the north, but that didn't go too well.

Why does Kosovo need a new flag which was created by Europe?
If that land was their land for centuries dont you think they will have a national flag they would wave and be proud Kosovars? They wave a red flag with a black bird on it. Doesn't that belong to Albania next door???

The western leaders using their dirty tricks again.
Western propaganda says 90 countries recognise Kosovo, but what about the 110 countries that DO NOT?????
Most poor nations were bribed with financial funding so to recognising this illegal breakaway.
As long as China and Russia veto this despicable unilateral declaration, it remains in the hands of it's rightful owner.
Spain, Brazil,India,Indonesia just to name a few other large nations all have used their common sense by adhering to international law and not played into the hands of the western bullies.
Serbia will get Kosovo back one day.
Maybe when the west return it once they rape all the minerals out of trepica mine.

I'm interested in Ari's expression "even if Serbia cannot CONTROL part of its territory". I do not know in what sense Ari meant 'control' but in many cases it is the desire of the larger part of an entity to exert control over smaller parts that leads to demands for independence. Scotland remained part of the UK in their referendum partly because there is no attempt at control by London. The Scots have their own Parliament and largely run their own affairs. Wales has its own language and acts of 1993 and 1998 mean that this language has equal status with English. Some things are better achieved together; economic success and common defence being two of the most important, but at no point is the issue of control (other than through budget grants from the centre) ever brought into focus. What was Serbia doing when it 'controlled' Kosovo; was it allowing the citizens there to freely conduct their own affairs and speak their own language widely or was it trying to suppress the K Albanians? Was it trying to reinforce the superiority of Serbs over Albanians (Peggy has admitted that she believes Serbs to be superior in previous posts) or treating everyone as an equal and important part of the state? I suppose some were doing one thing and others another, but the damage wrought in the late 1980's and early 1990's was never repaired.

Demi

111 UN members recognize Kosova as an state. It means that 111 countrys of the world dosen't recognize Serbia with Kosova. That will never change.

Some day both Serbia and Kosova will want to be part of EU. And to do that they will have to recognize each other. Serbs want to rule Kosova despite majority Albanian population and Albanians want Kosova to unite with Albania. Both are and will be unhappy. Kosova independece brings peace between Albanians and Serbs. Albanians would never accept serbian rule as history has learned us. And serbs cannot accept Kosova to unite with Albania. That is Why US and the West has come with this solution.

Have Vulin thought of how Serbia will rule Kosova or have it as its part without the consent of the population of Kosova ? Vulin should know Albanians will never give its consent for Kosova to give up its independence to be part of an slavic country as Serbia.

Milosevic tryed to ethnicly clean Kosova from its Albanian population. He knew It was the only chansen to ockult Kosova. Are serbs ready to try that again?

The only way Kosova could be serbia would be if Albanians woulden't exist at all. Meaning zero chance.

I believe he's talking about Vojvodina because Kosovo is independent and until today has been recognized by 111 countries. It's funny how Serbs call Serb entity in Bosnia a republic but independent Kosovo say is not independent.

The comparison between Syria and Kosovo is very appropriate. Both are attempts to exterminate a native population by out breeding them and both are social and economic failures as a result. And both pour out refugees, but Albanians are denied refugee status because there is no war.

Guys, guys - let's not get our panties all bunched up! Passions run high on ALL sides. Again, this is why it is so important that both sides come to some kind of agreement that works for all involved. One side to say to say "we get everything, u get nothing" does not work. Let's make this CLEAR to all!Albanians - just as fast as support has been provided, it can,and probably will dissapate. Serbs - unrealistic to imagine that 2 millions Albanians absorbed into Serbian mainstream would bring you any benefits, I mean politically, not personally. Some of my dearest friends are Albanian and we have absolutley no issues whatsoever. The world has changed! Now we see the world powers coming to the aid of smaller countries in a heartbeat. What happened in 1999 will not happen again. Putin has taken that situation personally and probably would risk WW3, not because he loves Srbs, but to make a statement. As for the US, they've backed off on Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria because of the Ruskies...what makes you think they'll have Kosovo's back? Smell the coffee! Serbs - Russia has manipulated this relationship to the upmost for themselves. They will sell you in a heartbeat if they don't see a benefit for themselves. I happen to strongly agree with Vucic on nuetrality politically. That is why Pristina&Beograd need to shake hands on something that all our children can count on! Let's do Business, not bullets!

Ah lord we're has your head been, maybe like an ostrich when scared dug into a hole in the ground? The Republic Of Kosova is a state, has been a state since 2/17/2008, its inhabitants a 97% majority all recognize it as a state, maybe high unemployment & corruption but still a state, 1 which has its own constitution, it's own police & armed force, it's own parliament, it's own prime minister & president, it's own elected officials, has the euro instead of the fledgeling dinar, it's own national anthem, and is recognized by 110 democratic nations of the world as a independent & sovereign state some of which are the biggest economy's on earth!!! You could have made this statement back in 2007, you're way behind but that's no surprise when it comes to serbian politicians. They all seem to be stuck in the 90s.

Protest is a mean of unfavorable democratic solution. Generally people wish government would do what they should, but I guess democratic solutions do not exist in Serbia. Without being silently executed, those who oppose government wrong doing. I seriously suggest you stick to your position, which is one of the lowest a government can offer. You sound bitter too, then I challenge you to go to Kosovo and tell them they are not an independent state.

As long as China and Russia veto this despicable unilateral declaration, it remains in the hands of it's rightful owner.
Spain, Brazil,India,Indonesia just to name a few other large nations all have used their common sense by adhering to international law and not played into the hands of the western bullies.
