This is a huge mistake on Serbia's part and to some degree Russia is to blame itself. Russia's mistake originated during the Kosovo war when the Russians forfeited the airport. That, in my opinion, was the turning point. Had the Russians remained in Kosovo, I don't believe we would be witnessing the current events. I understand that Yeltsin was in power and yielded to the US however, this could have been rectified afterwards. The difference between being an ally of the US and Russia is that the US will go to bat for their allies whereas the Russians had a saying that, "we can't be more Serbs than the Serbs themselves? Meaning we will not go to bat for you. They should have armed the Serbs to the gills and helped them fight, much like what the US does for its allies. Much more could have been done but it wasn't. I guess the Russians are going to pay for their mistakes. As far as the Serbs, Vucic is nothing more than a spineless corrupt bastard. I watch him on Serbian TV with his posturing of innocence and righteousness, but despite that, he is pathetic! It's all in Nikolic's court right now. And he is just as pathetic as Vucic.

I would not be wetting my pants for joy over this newspaper report. Sometimes its more to do with an election year and political parties that might have ideas. NATO is despised in Serbia.

I am not pro-Nato by any means. I am anti-American/EU at heart. However, even recently when Serbia was to purchase modern weapons from Russia it came down to what Serbia could afford and not how to best equip Serbia. They are going to purchase the minimum required. The S-300 will not be sold nor the state of the art weaponry. Why? Because Russia is being short sighted and looking out after its financial interests. In the long run should Serbia join Nato, those financial interests that Russia sought to save will mean nothing. Russia has abandoned a lot of its allies, i.e. Iraq, Cuba, Libya, etc. The US would never do that. If Russia would have shown its teeth in the past like it is doing now in Syria, the world would be a much better place. In my opinion, Cuba was the most strategic place on the planet for Russia. I am not pro-Nato by any means. I am anti-American/EU at heart. However, even recently when Serbia was to purchase modern weapons from Russia it came down to what Serbia could afford and not how to best equip Serbia. They are going to purchase the minimum required. The S-300 will not be sold nor the state of the art weaponry. Why? Because Russia is being short sighted and looking out after its financial interests. In the long run should Serbia join Nato, those financial interests that Russia sought to save will mean nothing. Russia has abandoned a lot of its allies, i.e. Iraq, Cuba, Libya, etc. The US would never do that. If Russia would have shown its teeth in the past like it is doing now in Syria, the world would be a much better place. In my opinion, Cuba was the most strategic place on the planet for Russia. They were pointing their nukes right next door to the US. And look at what they did? It's the Gorbachovs and the Yeltsins that took Russia down and Putin could be doing more for its "allies".

This is a huge mistake on Serbia's part and to some degree Russia is to blame itself. Russia's mistake originated during the Kosovo war when the Russians forfeited the airport. That, in my opinion, was the turning point. Had the Russians remained in Kosovo, I don't believe we would be witnessing the current events. I understand that Yeltsin was in power and yielded to the US however, this could have been rectified afterwards. The difference between being an ally of the US and Russia is that the US will go to bat for their allies whereas the Russians had a saying that, "we can't be more Serbs than the Serbs themselves? Meaning we will not go to bat for you. They should have armed the Serbs to the gills and helped them fight, much like what the US does for its allies. Much more could have been done but it wasn't. I guess the Russians are going to pay for their mistakes. As far as the Serbs, Vucic is nothing more than a spineless corrupt bastard. I watch him on Serbian TV with his posturing of innocence and righteousness, but despite that, he is pathetic! It's all in Nikolic's court right now. And he is just as pathetic as Vucic.
