Sasa,

they would earn at least 5 times more and for more senior technical skilled workers work placements can offer paid accomodation periods of upto 12 months. I don't disagree its good and yes 1000 euro's goes far in Serbia though not so if you needed to buy a new flat in Belgrade on Water - your London suggested equivalent.

My point being is highly trained technical Aero-maintenance work anywhere in world is far better paid in local equivalent then double the average. So given labour advantage in Serbia the equivalent might be closer to 2000 euro's - a huge saving still on the London workforce!

I say good luck to the 120 and get as much training as possible though Sasa don't be surprised when they inevitably get poached for somewhere other than Serbia - and don't complain that they take up the offer.

To Principa,
You are right that the worker's, would make more than double in London,Zurich and etc.But the cost of living is much more, and in these cities you are not paying 100,000 Euros for a unit/apartment, but 1 million plus Euros.
1000 Euros, you live comfortable in Belgrade, and it goes afar way.

Its good that "120 jobs pay double" RELATIVE to Serbian salaries - just lets not forget these same highly skilled and technical jobs command many many multiples of this "Double" Serbian salary in Heathrow, Zurich, Abu Dhabi or elsewhere SR technics (wholly owned by Mubadala). The sad thing is this is underpricing high skill and human asset if not more commensurate with market price. There would still be a huge business advantage even if the salary was 5 times the Serbian and that would be more beneficial for Serbia and its citizens.

Clearly this will still lead to a drain of trained skilled workers - which of the "120" would not after 2-3 years not take up a post for a few years elsewhere on a more commensurate rate internationally and who could deny them? Good luck to the 120 and every success to them.
