I wouldn't be to sure there will be an EU to join anymore very soon. There is quite likely going to be a Brexit according to the polls and then others might follow... And if you follow the EU and their policies, no one in their right mind would actually want to join. It's a madhouse. There is no way any amount of benefits would outweigh the high risk of it ending all up in misery...

"The document stresses that negotiations on chapter 35, which includes normalization of relations with Pristina, is essential for Serbia's progress towards the EU and that a full normalization of relations is an important condition for Serbia's entry into the Union".

That's code for full recognition.

I strongly disagree that Serbia should join the EU!!! Do Serbs really want to take orders from Brussels? Take a look at your neighbors, their economies haven't improved, high unemployment, high food prices, stagninant wages. The list goes on. Do you really want to take in so called "refugees" from middle-eastern countries that don't have anything in common with Serbs? The politicians are just looking out fot their own interest!

this article left out quite a bit of what the EU Parlament resolution stated. No mention of the criticism on the unacceptable way convicted war criminals are welcome in Serbia, Serbias poor way handeling the fate of missing people by the wars it caused in the 90's, lack of adequate laws to pay reperations to people and families that had to suffer from Serb war terror, no present measure against hate speech, and no sign of trying to establish good neighborly relations with especially Kosovo.

The entire statement I just read was condescending at best. Apart from the paragraph, which basically says that gesbians have disabilities, which is true, the rhetoric in the rest of the document will b very evident to Serbia, and quite soon, as it is encouraged to abandon its very history and culture.

The main underlying, resounding 'noise' which can be heard is how Serbia is going to have to abandon the good things and the bad things to join something that is going to make life even worse for every citizen, especially the poor.
The EU does not understand how vial a serb with money really is, for the haters, we may be disgusting when it comes to money, but we draw the line way before terrorism. Maybe I'm speaking out of context, but for central Serbia this IS the case.

Now the kicker, the make or break paragraph, just the word.
Regrettable.
Serbias relations with Russia

I can only hope and prey,by by EU and Serbia.

But as is the present case, the young Serb politicians will choose money over what is right.

Honestly why are Serbs so quick to jump on a sinking ship?? Just look at Romania and Bularia, are they better off? Is Croatia better off? Ridiculous that you want to relinquish your sovereignty
