Why not? If Britain and US watch RT why not Serbia? Even liberal Ed Shoultz , Larry King and Jesse Ventura are working for RT America now. All three have shows on RT America. I watch it every day just for comparison , of course they have their agenda as everyone else does , you have to be ignorant to believe that FOX , CNN and specially BBC are fair and balanced , or you live somewhere in the Balkans and believe that everything that comes from the West is "truth and nothing but the truth ". RT has extremely good documentaries about Africa , Artic, space exploration and so forth . Oksana Boiko and Sophie Shevernadze for example speak several languages and condact interviews with state heads, foreign ministers and important world leaders in French, Mandarin , Japanese , English and Russian . RT is more liberal than any other world media, pro-Palestinian , against globalism and against unipolar world. Why not get information from different sources even if you don't agree in general ?

"There is nothing wrong with this. RT is far more objective then the garbage that comes out of the US, like Fox, VOA, or CNN."

This is simply not true and is a cliche that people love to repeat. People like to compare RT and Sputnik to BBC.CNN.Fox.
It is much more accurate to compare them to sns.org.rs. Would you get your Serbian news from the SNS website?

If you cannot tell the difference between some not-perfect news channels such as BBC and outright fabrications and propaganda such as RT then more fool you.

@Comm. Parrisson

I couldn't agree with you more.
Serbia should just openly say it has no intention of joining the EU.
It would be much more honest.

The BBC is 'state sponsored' too, but who complains about its partiality? They're so 'independent' that their flagship Panorama program ran recently 'Putin's Billions' based on all sorts of mudracking. What quality!

And what about 'private' and 'independent' media groups like Axel Springer & News International? They're not 'state owned' but pump out huge quantities of ozone destroying gasses, the German media being the most virulently russophobic. 'Democratic' media moguls are more than happy to toe the line of western governments, just as 'private' oil companies closely follow the interests of the governments of where they are based.

If there is a reason RT is popular, then it is at least as much because of the rampant lying by the traditional media outlets, now happy to rely on twitter and facebook for 'evidence'. No smoke without fire, eh?

That's the West's undeclared 'hybrid warfare' that has been going on for a long time.

If they stop lying and start doing their job then maybe RT Wouldn't be so popular, with well over 1 billion viewers on Youtube..

It would be a breath of fresh air to allow the anti-globalist RT media to reach the ears of the Serbian people, especially with the messages of the dissenters *inside* America itself such as Noam Chomsky and untold others who are totally banned from US mainstream (thus global Western) media...

Nice wording. 'Openly in favor' simply means RT is a state sponsored propaganda channel, comparable to Voice of America, though the latter at least brings some information instead of only fabricated stories, a twisted view on the reality and obvious and blatant lies, like RT does.

But yes, I think Serbia will offer a good audience for 'media' of that kind.

Voice of America brings information and not propaganda? It must be a different radio program to the one I listen to.

"It will be followed by a cable TV program, and for a start, the rebroadcasting of Russian television Russia Today that is openly in favor of Vladimir Putin," the source has been quoted.

There are lots in Serbia who are waiting, sheep like, to buy into Putin propaganda.

This exactly what they have been waiting for.

It works for the tycoon too. If (when) Putin falls, there will be an escape route out of Russia to escape prosecution for corruption.

Of course there are others of us who despise the way Putin has chosen the usual path towards corruption that is sadly common with so many ego-fed presidents,
