The referred article is ridiculous and its inferences are laughable.
The process of canonisation is long and painstaking such as to avoid controveries as to the sanctity of the venerated. The Church makes a universal call for witnesses and/or scholarly facts to support or deny the virtues of the proposed candidate for sainthood.
The Catholic Church seeks such evidence irrespectivly of the source as long as the source is credible and the evidence presented is factual and supported.
The objections of a sister Christian Church, as is the Serbian Orthodox Church, are not taken lightly as has been the case of the objections of the Jews in the process of the canonisation of Pope Pius X.
The fact that objections from the Serbian Church (SPC) has led to the the proposal of a joint commission to examine the evidence is a positive but not a unique development, since once this evidence is evaluated, the controversy will be resolved and closed with the outcome accepted by all parties.
A Saint, once proclaimed is a Saint of the universal Church and not of a local dioceses.
The article referred to, only shows a partisan attitude to a case which is not for the local Church in Croata to judge or decide, but that for the Universal Church to judge and decide and then proclaim, if the case may be, the person as a model of virtuous life to be emulated by all Christians.
