Looks like Nikolic is confusing 'stem cell research' with 'eugenics'

We had a doubt that Serbs were a different species but now the president is confirming it:).

Seriously now,has anybody told him what stem cell research is really about? Nothing of the things he is talking about, species preservation or anything like that. It is about using stem cells to cure diseases. Or did the people at the new institute actually tell him what he wanted to hear and he bought it? Treated him as the rich idiot uncle?

Since about the era our own Serbian Son Nikola Tesla was born and to the present time just think about it, the advancements humanity has achieved! What is the limit of the human imagination, is it the summit of the tallest mountain on earth or is it well beyond the remote outer reaches of the Cosmos? Serbian President Tomislav blessed with a open mind and clearly stated his desire of advancement of all humanity! Any medical or technical advancements to benifit all humanity in the world! So what is all this bikering and confusion comming from, any statement or act Serbian social leaders make in collision with the entity! Yes today Serbia is in a very critical situation, besides being surrounded by the Devil also the sad reality of lossing it's sacred population! Gods greatist gift to all mankind the animal kingdom and mankinds greatest gift to God the birth of our children! Just think about it, what if no more children were ever to be born, could it happen? Why did God give humanity the soul, is it because the spirit within us if we choose will live to eternity with divinity? So I just say all you out there who think you are so smart and rightous well think twice before you criticize Serbian leaders who are living within their legal boundaries and trying to preserve our Serbian race!!!

Stem cell research's aim is find cures for diseases, not for the preservation of Serbdom. But never mind, I don't think he would understand.

Well, Nicolic is not exactly a doctor, his former profession is ehm, let's say, something like exactly the opposite, so he's excused, kind of :)

what more prove is needed that this man simply is an embarrassment and doesn't know what he is talking about. WEll, he was elected, even less than 50% of the serbs voted in that election. It is time this idiot is send back to his old job. He is alredy digging his own grave.

It's a good thing to want to encourage your people to have children. Look at countries like Canada, you get bonus money in the thousands for each child you make.

Let's remember that this isn't a radio talk show host or an investigative journalist making these comments, it is the democratically elected President. I am fairly certain the Serbs knew what sort of man Nikolic was before they cast their ballots and so whatever they get from him they voted for. I suspect that not all Serbs are either alarmed or outraged by what he said.

Even in the case of IVF the choices are those of individuals, they are not generalised issues of nationality or race.

Presidents have to represent all citizens and therefore need to tread gently when talking in generalisations.

Nicolic lacks the finesse needed for his job, but I would tend to put this episode down to clumsiness rather than malice.

How can a man walk around like that with both feet lodged in his mouth? First he lauds the preservation of Serbian tissue for the advancement of the Serbian "species". Now he complains that Serbs are not reproducing fast enough.

He should resign the presidency and take up chicken farming. Although, even a chicken farmer would have more sense.

It reminds me once of news I heard out of Croatia about something regarding the "Croatian brain".

The Serbs are on the right side of things, but only out of the mercy of history. Just because you are Serb doesn't make you right.
