Jugoslavija : The fire bombing of Dresden and Hamburg and other German cities …

Why don’t you mention Sofia and Belgrade both destroyed few days before the Soviets came. Also during Tokyo bombing of 1945 in two days more people were killed than by the two nukes. Such is their Saxon bastardity.

Its like putting lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig. Trying to put some credence to the process, but it will be in the front door and before they can take their hats off out the back door found not guilty by verdicts decided upon months before hand. Now that is western justice for you LOL.

Court is, first of all, in Hague. No need to read more. It's irrelevant.
I have a deep mistrust that they will do it right. It's just another quasi-judicial parade that will throw big words around and play justice, while it will do just the opposite, in line with political needs.

Will Thaci be sent to trial? Hope so,he deserves big jail time and what a farce that he was free for so long. Kosovo is a joke and a nightmare. Albanians made it that way.

in direct contradiction to the Geneva convention.

You mean in direct contradiction to the 4th Geneva convention which was written after WWII?

Jugoslavija

Albanians were pressured by their Western sponsors to create a quasi court where a few sacrificial lambs will take the ax for the systematic war crimes committed by the terrorist KLA.
(Ari Gold, 18 January 2016 12:57)

Of course, it was no different than the Nuremburg trials which was nothing but show trials. Although the Nazi's were the main thugs in the war, it did not clear the war crimes committed particularly by Britain, USA and the Soviet Union.

The Nuclear bombs dropped at Hiroshima and Nagasaki are war crimes and genocide against a civilian population in direct contradiction to the Geneva convention. The fire bombing of Dresden and Hamburg and other German cities near the end of the war is also a war crime and genocide committed against civilians.

Later after the Nuremburg trials, national trials were set up in Germany, France and other western nations while the Soviet satellite set up Communist show trials which totally ignored the rule of law. The trial of Draza Mihailovic is one of those examples in Yugoslavia, Horthy of Hungary , and Ion Antonescu in Romania are other examples.

Other examples include the summary trial and brutal execution of Romanian Communist Leader Nikolai Ceausescu and his wife in 1989. The court procedure took less than 90 minutes, a gross injustice to the coup de etat of which the roots of the cause to this day are still hidden from the public.

I wonder if this will be like clown trials of ex nazis, 96 year old former yugoslavs will be dragged to the Hague in 2042 serbs still claiming that it is biased against them. Milosevic, Izetbegovic and Tudjman are all dead, Thaci is the only major figure still alive. I suppose serbs consider Milan Kucan a terrorist, but he did no crimes. Convict Thaci and perhaps serbs stop crying.

Since it's Kosovo, justice here works like that:
Whoever witnessed war crimes committed by KLA freedom fighters and wants to testify shall be punished!!!
(Comm. Parrisson, 18 January 2016 13:54)

Maybe, maybe not. Who knows. If its true what you say, then the court is irrelevant and you just wasted your time commenting.

Really, only a tribunal administered by the UN Security Council would give any hope of actual justice. Russia and China would submit such a proposal, but Serbia's gov't would have to ask which it wont because EU has no alternative.

The Special court is under Kosovo Law just like the special court for Serbia in Beograd, the special court for Croatia in Zagreb, Osijek, Rijeka, Split and the special court for Bosnia in Sarajevo. These special warcrimes chambers are always set up under national law in accordance with international law.

See ICTY local judiciaries: http://www.icty.org/en/outreach/capacity-building/development-local-judiciaries

Now as for the credibility of the court. KRSJI has a panel of international judges who will apply Kosovo laws. This is not a bad thing, specially if you consider that all other balkan countries only involve locals, resulting in a high number of failed prosecutions and constant political sabotage of their work.

If you ask me Serbia should fight the fac that Kosovo laws are being used for prosecution outside of Kosovo.

Serbs are so adamant that Kosovo doesn't even exist as a country, but here we are Kosovo is with her court laws in Hague. I know you Serbs see something wrong with this picture you can't pretend like you don't.

Hardly anything will get done, and Serbs cannot complain about it anymore. There is nothing to be done since KLA has really not done anything wrong other than self defend what they could which is no violation at all.

So is this done under Kosovo laws and not under international laws as in the case of the Yugoslav tribunal? That makes the whole thing already suspicious from the onset, despite the enthusiasm of the Dutch officials.

Amanaparts

The Special court is important and will help Kosovo to weed out the criminals who are a disgrace and a factor of instability for Europes youngest Nation. We can not allow for criminals to besmirch KLA`s name and the name of the brave soldiers who died while fighting for freedome.

I do support this court, specially because the balkans have a long history of denial and I dont want that to happen to my country too. Under no cirumstances can we allow a corrupt elite to put us in the same state of ignorance and denial in which Serbia is trapped since the 90ies.

Lets hope for recognition, admission of guilt and accountability. Maybe if we set a good exemple, then Serbia does its part too. Then and only then there will be a chance for reconciliation.

Whoever is guilty of crimes, shall be punished!!
