It had little to do with Tito. By that time he was dead. What they are pining for is the last 10 years of the existence of Yugoslavia because it was during that time wages and living standards went through the roof.
I have relatives that told me they were earning more money than they could spend.
Slovenia was processing raw material from Serbia bought at a pittance and selling on the international markets earning foreign currency.
Croatia had its tourism supported by Serbian agricultural produce and manufacturing.
Today, they have to fend for themselves and living standards are falling very fast.
That is why they are pining for the former Yugoslavia.

SJ: You are right that people pine for the old Yugoslavia, but the one they reminisce about is that of pre 1980 Tito, of brotherhood and Unity, not the one presided over by Milosevic which they could not wait to leave behind.

There seems to be a delusion that Bosnia would work if only the Serbs could be subdued and it would be one happy family, but the Croat numbers are reducing as the Bosniaks are pushing them out of Bosnia.
The west poured money into the Federation just like it did in Croatia and Slovenia to show the Serbs that living in a democracy brings great rewards, but that was until the big bang occurred in 2008. Today you hear in both Croatia and Slovenia people claiming they lived better in the old Yugoslavia.
The Slovenes are open about that while the Croats only whisper that “we did not need this, we all lived better before”. During demonstrations of late 2014 in Ljubljana, labour Unions and people demanded that the politicians like Milan Kucan explain to them where was that better life they were promised on leaving the old Yugoslavia. Too late lads you were conned and Milan lives in luxury in Germany.
Bosnia is and always will be a lame duck country supported by the west. Bosnia as it stands suits Moscow to a tee.

At the end of the day, the only way for RS to ever become independent would be for Serbia to support it with weapons and money and for the whole world to not pay attention. Never going to happen. Serbia wants in the EU and the world will not look the other way again in Bosnia, especially the US.

Nikola: The lesson that I hope was learned from the 1990s is that a federation has to be run by and for everyone. Disaster looms when one group of people, or so-called representatives of that group, believe themselves to be naturally suited to running things and others suited to a subservient role. The Scots almost voted for independence not because they thought they would be financially better off but because they were fed up with being told how to live their lives by white upper class English men. So with ex Yugoslavia. Many of those who broke away have suffered economically (possibly not Croatia and Slovenia) but they wanted to run their own lives and were fed up with being viewed as second class citizens by those running the country. Personal pride was more important to them than money and it remains that way. Appealing to their sense of brotherhood and unity is one thing, expecting them to give up their new found freedom for "a few dollars more" won't work.

Time to collect your check from George and Nat (Rothschild) Sonja. (who finance these traitors.) They are assiduously working against the recovery of Serbia and its people. Believe me.
And frankly Vucic has done more than any other in the region for reconciliation, in particular with Bosnia, putting his life at risk for a gesture. I think you should shut up and keep collecting your checks.

Vucic is a European leader... The policy is clear...

Bosnia i Herzegovina (BIH) will be integrated into the Serbian economy, there is already many investments and plans to rebuild Bosnia so that its economy can benefit both the Serbs and the Bosnians...

BIH future is within the Balkans, it has no future outside the Balkans and if it is to be prosperous it must take full advantage of the regional economies in the Balkans and to create a friendly economic environment which is stern against foreign influence and propaganda... Bosnia and Serbia belong together, they belong to a future where both nations can merge their economies for the benefit of the people...

Yugoslavia merged the economies of Slovenia, Macedonia, Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia and this merging of economies created a boom which was never seen before in this region and will never been seen again unless these economies merge one more time... Therefore the Vucic policy is clear, the Serbs are rebuilding the Bosnian economy to prepare it for a future merging, a merging which will see Bosnia once again economically thrive, a Bosnia which will never again be divided from its true slavic ancestry, it will merge eventually and it will sit united With Serbia to regain its former glory...

Vucic has plans for BIH, we will unite these Balkan economies, the people and the governments. We were taught a lesson in the 1990s, that divided we fall... We are slowly reuniting now...
