There was once a White Croatia and a White Serbia. They were situated just above the Balkans from East Germany to Poland. So this means they lived side to side no matter where they were. Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro, and even Bosnia have no problems with Serbia. The only countries that do are Croatia and Albania. Interesting how both of those countries have the most paranoid nationalists in the region.

I have been to both Croatia and Serbia and I and my friends were not keen on the Croatians either. We found them arrogant and rude. And then we mean staff of restaurants, hotels and shops. These people would have no business working in the service industry in any other country. Both hotels we were staying at tried to cheat us on the bill. We could only come to the conclusion that Croatians are unpleasant and unreliable people.
Serbia has been nothing but a very pleasant surprise which could easily be repeated. People in fact were so very nice, we didn't only felt a guest but a very welcome guest.

Radic was very active along with other Croats Strossmeyer, Starcevic and others towards the goals of creating a Yugoslav nation. Other options was creating a tri-partite state within Austro-Hungary. He was jailed both in Hungary and Yugoslavia as he worked against both states even though both Hungary and Yugoslavia allowed equal representation in the parliaments. King Alexander signed an agreement with Radic after being jailed of which he kept until he was shot by Punisa Racic , a Serb-Montenegrin in parliament. King Alexander allowed Punisa Racic to essentially escape justice for the murder of Radic which rightly incensed the Croatians.
In 1938, Serb and Croat ministers Cvetkovic and Macek signed a comprehensive deal with allowed substantial autonomy for the Croatian state before the outbreak of WWII. Unfortunately, Pavelic seized power after the Nazi's rolled into Yugoslavia and thus began the Genocide against mostly ethnic Serbs in Croatia where the hatred truly began between Serbs and Croats. Macek refused to return to Croatia to govern and his integrity could not be compromised by the Croatian Ustase who also had a hand in the assassination of King Alexander in Marseilles in 1934. Ante Pavelic as well as Tito also participated in the Spanish civil war in support of Franco.

I'm half Croatian and half Serbian from bosnia. and I think I've got a pretty good grasp of the situation here.
I know there were a lot of bad people on both sides and I'm ashamed of that, but everyone has bad people in their camp. those that only listen to what they want to hear and won't allow anyone else to talk. those people are called fascists, and each side had them in the war.
Yugoslavia was a big obstacle to the eu, and they had to do something about it.....so propaganda akin to holywood movies was unleashed upon the world, you know the good guys v the bad guys etc etc.
Lately I've been to Serbia and Croatia and bosnia and what I see and hear from normal people is bad.
Sure Serbia is poor but what surprised me is Croatia. I went to split to meet with my friends and all the factories are closed, the harbour is not commercial except for a few ferries and my croat friends whinge how normal people are being starved out, he's a state engineer and barely makes by. another thing I noticed is the amount of homeless people in split, it's bad. The tourist industry once you get to Hvar is nice, but my friend who owns a backpackers says you can't live of it.
I don't even want to talk about bosnia where the ISIS flag flies proudly in my town.
We had problems before the war, people wanted change, I get that. I'm just sad that they didn't wait for it naturally to occur.

I am Croatian American and I and my family have lived in Knin, Croatia before the war started. I can only tell you that I believe the only the USA is the ones that forced the hate between us and the Serbs.
Do not forget that the Croats and Bosniaks were willing local allies of Austria-Hungary when Serbia was attacked in 1914. The biggest mistake, even though it was a good idea after WW1, was to create the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes/Kingdom of Yugoslavia. After the horrible losses in WW1 all Serbian/Montenegro areas should have been united and the Croats and Bosniaks should have been left rotten for a long time in areas where they could have sustained themselves and build up their own paradises. One wonders if the Croat Ustase genocide of Serbs, Roma, and other undesirables of the Nazis/fascists had happened when Yugoslavia had stayed in the Tripartite Pact and hereby not prompting the Nazi Germany and allies invasion, dismantlement of Yugoslavia and the creating of the Independent State of Croatia. Then Serbs would have had the dishonor to fight against the Soviet Union and being in the Warsaw Pact for 45 years. We cannot change history, hopefully we can only learn from it and honor the innocent people whose lives were cut short by wars and tyranny. Finally, Toto and his Communist were too afraid to denazify the Croats, Bosniaks, and Albanians after taking over Yugoslavia and starting their terror against patriotic Serbs, who did not have much chance to process and heal from the horrors of WW2.

I have never known a Serb who hated Croatians only those who hated the Ustase and like minded fascists. Not only do Croatian businessmen have investments in Serbia, but companies in Croatia depend on Serbia as a export market.

Not only do Croatian businessmen have investments in Serbia, but companies in Croatia depend on Serbia as a export market.
This was proven a few months ago when Croatia closed borders with Serbia and Serbia responded with economic sanctions. Croatia stood down within 24 hours. Media will tell you it's because the EU pressured Croatia, but really it's that nobody in Croatia wants it to be known that their economy would cripple if it didn't have Serbia as a trading partner.

Serbs could have established a Greater Serbia then had they wanted. Serbs could have named the country Serbia, and in retrospect, should have. From day one, Croats undermined their new country and sabotaged the government in their hope of establishing the Independent State of Croatia (which by the way, became Greater Croatia that included B-H). Unfortunately due to the naivety and generosity of the Serbs, the Independent State of Croatia was established with the help of Croatia's historical friends, Nazi Germany. Thus the darkest period in European history began. Had the Serbs created a Greater Serbia following WWI, perhaps the killing orgy that the murderous Croat Ustasha regime participated in would never have occurred.

Do not forget that the Croats and Bosniaks were willing local allies of Austria-Hungary when Serbia was attacked in 1914. The biggest mistake, even though it was a good idea after WW1, was to create the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes/Kingdom of Yugoslavia. After the horrible losses in WW1 all Serbian/Montenegro areas should have been united and the Croats and Bosniaks should have been left rotten for a long time in areas where they could have sustained themselves and build up their own paradises. Then Serbs would have had the dishonor to fight against the Soviet Union and being in the Warsaw Pact for 45 years. We cannot change history, hopefully we can only learn from it and honor the innocent people whose lives were cut short by wars and tyranny. Finally, Toto and his Communist were too afraid to denazify the Croats, Bosniaks, and Albanians after taking over Yugoslavia and starting their terror against patriotic Serbs, who did not have much chance to process and heal from the horrors of WW2.

I have been to both Croatia and Serbia and I and my friends were not keen on the Croatians either. We found them arrogant and rude. And then we mean staff of restaurants, hotels and shops. These people would have no business working in the service industry in any other country. Both hotels we were staying at tried to cheat us on the bill. We could only come to the conclusion that Croatians are unpleasant and unreliable people.

I'm half Croatian and half Serbian from bosnia. and I think I've got a pretty good grasp of the situation here.
I know there were a lot of bad people on both sides and I'm ashamed of that, but everyone has bad people in their camp. those that only listen to what they want to hear and won't allow anyone else to talk. those people are called fascists, and each side had them in the war.
Yugoslavia was a big obstacle to the eu, and they had to do something about it.....so propaganda akin to holywood movies was unleashed upon the world, you know the good guys v the bad guys etc etc.
Lately I've been to Serbia and Croatia and bosnia and what I see and hear from normal people is bad.
Sure Serbia is poor but what surprised me is Croatia. I went to split to meet with my friends and all the factories are closed, the harbour is not commercial except for a few ferries and my croat friends whinge how normal people are being starved out, he's a state engineer and barely makes by. another thing I noticed is the amount of homeless people in split, it's bad. The tourist industry once you get to Hvar is nice, but my friend who owns a backpackers says you can't live of it.
I don't even want to talk about bosnia where the ISIS flag flies proudly in my town.
We had problems before the war, people wanted change, I get that. I'm just sad that they didn't wait for it naturally to occur.

Radic was very active along with other Croats Strossmeyer, Starcevic and others towards the goals of creating a Yugoslav nation. Other options was creating a tri-partite state within Austro-Hungary. He was jailed both in Hungary and Yugoslavia as he worked against both states even though both Hungary and Yugoslavia allowed equal representation in the parliaments. King Alexander signed an agreement with Radic after being jailed of which he kept until he was shot by Punisa Racic , a Serb-Montenegrin in parliament. King Alexander allowed Punisa Racic to essentially escape justice for the murder of Radic which rightly incensed the Croatians.
In 1938, Serb and Croat ministers Cvetkovic and Macek signed a comprehensive deal with allowed substantial autonomy for the Croatian state before the outbreak of WWII. Unfortunately, Pavelic seized power after the Nazi's rolled into Yugoslavia and thus began the Genocide against mostly ethnic Serbs in Croatia where the hatred truly began between Serbs and Croats. Macek refused to return to Croatia to govern and his integrity could not be compromised by the Croatian Ustase who also had a hand in the assassination of King Alexander in Marseilles in 1934. Ante Pavelic as well as Tito also participated in the Spanish civil war in support of Franco.

There is extreme hatred of Serbs by Croats. Serbs who lived near Croats feared them but never hated them. The fear Serbs had for Croats has nothing to do with what the western TV calls “centuries of hatred and suspicion between Serbs and Croats.” There was never a war between these two peoples until Croats joined the Nazis and began to slaughter their Serbian neighbours. Nazi Croats behaved in a similar fashion to the liver-eating maniacs of ISIS. Croats revelled in their murder of every poor Serbian civilian who fell into their hands. The slaughter of Serbs started again in 1991 and the job of exterminating Serbs from the territory of the SFR Croatia is now virtually complete. Stjepan Radic was a radical nationalist who was allies with Ante Pavelic which we all know was the man responsible for the "Independent State of Croatia" which butchered almost a million Serbs during WWII. Acolyte, you are undoubtedly another Croat brainwashed by Ustasha revisionist history. Let's look at the facts. Serbs were on the winning side of WWI, while Croats were on the losing side. Serbs could have established a Greater Serbia then had they wanted. Instead, they benevolently accepted the beaten Croats into the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, later to become Yugoslavia in 1929. Serbs could have named the country Serbia, and in retrospect, should have. From day one, Croats undermined their new country and sabotaged the government in their hope of establishing the Independent State of Croatia (which by the way, became Greater Croatia that included B-H). Unfortunately due to the naivety and generosity of the Serbs, the Independent State of Croatia was established with the help of Croatia's historical friends, Nazi Germany. Thus the darkest period in European history began. Had the Serbs created a Greater Serbia following WWI, perhaps the killing orgy that the murderous Croat Ustasha regime participated in would never have occurred.

Recent analysis by Croatian media shows that Serbia's military is twice the size of Croatia's even with NATO accession. But more than that, economically Croatia depends on Serbia. Not only do Croatian businessmen have investments in Serbia, but companies in Croatia depend on Serbia as a export market.
This was proven a few months ago when Croatia closed borders with Serbia and Serbia responded with economic sanctions. Croatia stood down within 24 hours. Media will tell you it's because the EU pressured Croatia, but really it's that nobody in Croatia wants it to be known that their economy would cripple if it didn't have Serbia as a trading partner.

After the horrible losses in WW1 all Serbian/Montenegro areas should have been united and the Croats and Bosniaks should have been left rotten for a long time in areas where they could have sustained themselves and build up their own paradises. One wonders if the Croat Ustase genocide of Serbs, Roma, and other undesirables of the Nazis/fascists had happened when Yugoslavia had stayed in the Tripartite Pact and hereby not prompting the Nazi Germany and allies invasion, dismantlement of Yugoslavia and the creating of the Independent State of Croatia. Then Serbs would have had the dishonor to fight against the Soviet Union and being in the Warsaw Pact for 45 years. We cannot change history, hopefully we can only learn from it and honor the innocent people whose lives were cut short by wars and tyranny. Finally, Toto and his Communist were too afraid to denazify the Croats, Bosniaks, and Albanians after taking over Yugoslavia and starting their terror against patriotic Serbs, who did not have much chance to process and heal from the horrors of WW2.

Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro, and even Bosnia have no problems with Serbia. The only countries that do are Croatia and Albania. Interesting how both of those countries have the most paranoid nationalists in the region.

I have been to both Croatia and Serbia and I and my friends were not keen on the Croatians either. We found them arrogant and rude. And then we mean staff of restaurants, hotels and shops. These people would have no business working in the service industry in any other country. Both hotels we were staying at tried to cheat us on the bill. We could only come to the conclusion that Croatians are unpleasant and unreliable people.
Serbia has been nothing but a very pleasant surprise which could easily be repeated. People in fact were so very nice, we didn't only felt a guest but a very welcome guest.
I have never known a Serb who hated Croatians only those who hated the Ustase and like minded fascists. The apostate Catholic “church” is the divider when it split from the true Church in 1054; although paganism was already firmly established since the council of Nicaea in 325 the apostate Romans were not satisfied. The Mary worshipers required deeper depravity than the Church in Constantinople would provide and so to this day they desire Orthodox decimation to justify their turn to ancient Roman paganism. Serbs and Croats need to forget about this artificial religious split and understand that they are nearly the same people.

I know there were a lot of bad people on both sides and I'm ashamed of that, but everyone has bad people in their camp. those that only listen to what they want to hear and won't allow anyone else to talk. those people are called fascists, and each side had them in the war.
Yugoslavia was a big obstacle to the eu, and they had to do something about it.....so propaganda akin to holywood movies was unleashed upon the world, you know the good guys v the bad guys etc etc.

Sure Serbia is poor but what surprised me is Croatia. I went to split to meet with my friends and all the factories are closed, the harbour is not commercial except for a few ferries and my croat friends whinge how normal people are being starved out, he's a state engineer and barely makes by. another thing I noticed is the amount of homeless people in split, it's bad. The tourist industry once you get to Hvar is nice, but my friend who owns a backpackers says you can't live of it.
I don't even want to talk about bosnia where the ISIS flag flies proudly in my town.
We had problems before the war, people wanted change, I get that. I'm just sad that they didn't wait for it naturally to occur.

Radic was very active along with other Croats Strossmeyer, Starcevic and others towards the goals of creating a Yugoslav nation. Other options was creating a tri-partite state within Austro-Hungary. He was jailed both in Hungary and Yugoslavia as he worked against both states even though both Hungary and Yugoslavia allowed equal representation in the parliaments. King Alexander signed an agreement with Radic after being jailed of which he kept until he was shot by Punisa Racic , a Serb-Montenegrin in parliament. King Alexander allowed Punisa Racic to essentially escape justice for the murder of Radic which rightly incensed the Croatians.
In 1938, Serb and Croat ministers Cvetkovic and Macek signed a comprehensive deal with allowed substantial autonomy for the Croatian state before the outbreak of WWII. Unfortunately, Pavelic seized power after the Nazi's rolled into Yugoslavia and thus began the Genocide against mostly ethnic Serbs in Croatia where the hatred truly began between Serbs and Croats. Macek refused to return to Croatia to govern and his integrity could not be compromised by the Croatian Ustase who also had a hand in the assassination of King Alexander in Marseilles in 1934. Ante Pavelic as well as Tito also participated in the Spanish civil war in support of Franco.
