More than love for each-other, it's more like love of the naive Serbs for Russia. When it comes to the other way around, Russia does not hesitate to reduce the gas supply to the Serbs "brothers" for a 200M overdue bill, "buy" Serbia's assets for a fistful of Euros (example NIS) and when Serbs are for help with actions, Russia refuses to assist the Kosovo Serbs with Russian passports, Czar Vlade withdraws the Russian soldiers from Kosovo and Serb irregular workers are expelled from Russia as if they were irregular workers from Africa!
Not more to say. Real neutrality and a principled stance on defending values like territorial integrity and sovereignty of states doesn't go together with Nicolic kissing Putin's ass while he annexed part of Ukrainian territory.

I wish that was true. Strategically, every army that travelled from the west to the east had to use a road that runs near Jagodina, Serbia. It takes 3 days from Berlin to Istanbul vis Serbia and 7 days if they go around Serbia. Montenegro is only to stop Russia from building a naval base while FYROM is of no consequence at all. As a result of that incident in Kumanovo early last year all buses travelling to Greece went via Bulgaria and that only added 3 hours to a normal journey.

The Balkans perfectly capture the relations between Russia and Europe. The Roman Catholic Empire countries in Europe have many reasons to tremble and fear Czar Vlade but also they have many more reasons to cooperate with him! Did Europe really conquer the Balkans during the 1990's? Just like the poor little porkupine who got swallowed by the big snake, the snakes last meal and very painfull slow death! The former Jugoslavia is in fact the first victim of World War 3. Back during the murder of Eastern Orthodox Christianity in the Balkans during the 1990's Russia was weak and divided and could not be in a good position to liberate Serbia. So now Russia is back, the most powerfull military Empire in the world and begins the power play between Europe and Russia within the cradle of the Balkans! Germany will never confront Russia, only the USA will for sure TRY and reduce Russia's influence in the Balkans and the rest of Europe. The unsettled borders in Europe are precursors to war so proven in Jugoslavia, the Caucasus and Ukraine! "Border Adjustments", that is what the USA, England and Germany call their murder of Eastern Orthodox Christianity in the Balkans. So how many independence declarations will it take to start the dominoes falling all across Europe? Each new push for independence undermines the foundation of modern Europe! So what did Germany with the help of USA and England and full blessing of the Vatican unleash in the Balkans? Boze Pravde i Gospode Pomiluj!!!

You're right. Serbia in 2021 will most likely not be neutral but will be firmly in Russia's alliance. Conditions are changing rapidly and Serbia has to be prepared to change as well.
BRICS is only getting stronger.

Serbia won't be a problem. Albanians however are the ones causing instability and chaos in the region so if there's any group that deserves a bombing campaign, it's people either in Tirana or Pristina. Or preferably both.

The ONLY reason Serbia refuses NATO membership is that it would require them to make peace with their neighbors. Without membership they are free to threaten or attack their neighbors at a whim.
Luckily NATO membership for those who voluntarily joined will guarantee that those silly men wearing beards and Chetnik hats masquerading as "soldiers" instead of the weak limp losers that they are will never roam their streets terrorizing the civilian population.
