This is a good case of diplomacy.
(IvanPN, 4 January 2016 07:15)

Yup, really good display of Serbia's diplomacy in action lol

29th December: Serbia's President
"Serbia's president "to assist" Turkey in dispute with Russia"

vs

26th December: Serbia's President
"Turkey would violate Greece's airspace 40 times in one day"

Or another example:

30th December: Serbia's Foreign Minister:
"Serbia won't back Montenegro's candidate for top UN job"

vs

30th December: Serbia's Prime Minister
"Serbia wants to buy Montenegro's Port of Bar"

laughable... not sure who is the most amateurish, Serbia's President, Serbia's Prime Minister or Serbia's Foreign Minister or any combination thereof :)

This is a good case of diplomacy. Nikolic is openly in support of pro Russian relations. In the article he comments about the pain of friends recognizing Kosovo with Turkey being one of them.
It seems he wants to keep his enemies closer for whatever the current reason is.
Economically Serbia requires investment from anyone willing, to update the out of date industries and infrastructure. The only visible problem is when a certain country imports its people along with its economic support, such as china.
Turkey turned to Nikolic to seek advice on how to escape the situation they have created, due to the feeling around the world of how similar Serbs and Russians are. With one MAJOR difference, the Russians hit ALOT harder and they don't need anyone to watch there backs. I think we'll see an end to the Syrian crisis by the end of the year, and by then NAT-Erica will need to find a new way to hit an old enemy.

Turkey is a superpower and everyone in the balkans wants to do business with them.
A superpower, LOL, LOL Have you been to Turkey lately? I have been there on a couple of occasions this year and what I saw was not superpower stuff. If the EU opened its doors to Turkey there would be a few people left there. You only have to go 20 kilometres inland from the resorts to go back to the 5 century.

I hate to tell you that most politicians amass wealth and Putin is not alone. You only have to look at western politicians who walk into politics poor and walk out 20 years later very wealthy. In the US corporations pay politicians. Look at Obama’s wealth before he entered politics and then look at it after he retires and see the difference.
Look at the Clintons or Al Gore or the Bushes – you’re going to tell me they became obscenely rich by working lots of overtime. Why do you think they would climb over bodies to become President? For the honour? If you believe that you believe in fairy tales. It all about money.
The problem why we have this system is because people naively believe that one side wears the black hats while the goodies wear white hats.

SVABO : 9000 words from your language and 50% of your DNA

In 1453 the Osmans came to ANATOL from the Balkans and they were Slavs. Yet the army was international. We all know that the Turkic people were a part of the empire but before 1826 (when some 30 000 of the elite Slav/Caucasian/Shqiptar Janissary were executed) they played almost zero role in the Ottoman Empire. Anyways today Slav/Caucasian component in the Y-DNA of the Turks exceeds 50%. I am not an expert in the Hellenic/Shqiptar blood but I suppose them to be present in the Turkish cocktail as well to say nothing of the Arabs, Kurds, Iranians ect. The Turkic language is an artificial one. Ataturk invited two Russian philologists in 1923 one of Tatar origin and one of Bashkir. These two men wrote the Turkish grammar and vocabulary by mixing Osmani language with the Tatar one. It was so far from what people were used to that no one understood it before WW2. Besides in every velayat they had a special censor commission which developed different Turkish language. Before 19 century in the court of Constantinople you could defend yourself only on the Slovenski language known in Russia as сербский извод церковно-славянского языка that is used in the Serbian churches today. In 19 century all Slav languages were “reformed” by the Oldenburgs the kings of Europe. Serbs tribute much more to the Turkish language and Y-DNA as were part of the elite of the Osmans/ Ottomans whom Ataturk hated most.

I dont care what turks do, just as I dont care that your Government calls turkey friends. Turkey is a superpower and everyone in the balkans wants to do business with them. Thats called to be economically responsible.

However, Turkey is going to get in the Balkans what Serbia will get in Kosovo.

A statement said that the Turkish prime minister conveyed to Nikolic "the desire of the Turkish side to have a normal relationship with Moscow."

Maybe he should have conveyed his Turkish army bosses - who shut down the Russian plane which entered Turkish air space for 5 seconds - that this was not a good idea. Or he could have convinced his master Erdogan to at least apologize instead of putting more oil into the fire. I don't think Serbia can be any help in normalizing the Turkish-Russian relations.

How would Serbs feel if Russia invites the Snake with Haradiai and arrange a warm accept for them on the top level ? There are red lines that none of us can cross while Turkey is the most sensitive issue for the Russians.

It's amazing, somehow: First, Erdogan and Assad were good friends whose families even spend holidays together, later Erdogan met with Putin and praised their glorious friendship, and now, Putin became Assads best friend, all within a few years. Can anyone explain me that? For me it's very confusing.

How would Serbs feel if Russia invites the Snake with Haradiai and arrange a warm accept for them on the top level ? There are red lines that none of us can cross while Turkey is the most sensitive issue for the Russians. Davidson arrived to Belgrade the same very day when Russia made valid the new portion of the sanctions against Turkey. Nicolic should bear in mind that it's the same Davutoglu who back in 2012 said :
"Whatever we lost between 1911 and 1923, whatever lands we withdrew from, from 2011 to 2023 we shall once again meet our brothers in those lands".

In a speech in Sarajevo in October 2009, he, being a Foreign Minister then, said:
"As in the 15th century, when the Ottoman Balkans were rising, we will once again make the Balkans, the Caucasus and the Middle East, together with Turkey, the center of world politics in the future. That is the goal of the Turkish foreign policy, and we will achieve it".

Davutoglu Mr Nicolic may have swapped the fez for the cylinder hat- so he can look modern-but it hasn't changed the head of Davutoglu in the least. He looks Western but thinks and is oriental.True,Western mimicry Davutoglu and Erdogan have adopted to promote their old jihadist and supremacist objectives which make them more dangerous than before. To sum up Turks are unable to face and are afraid of the unflattering truth. As their proverb says" Only a Turk can be a friend to a Turk".With such leaders there can never be peace in the long run.

Yes, it seems like the worst time to host such an enemy but maybe there is method in the madness. Turkey is desperate. They know how much they stuffed up and they need to fix this. Maybe Serbia has full support of Russia in this becasue Russia can't be seen negotiating anything with Turkey but this is a perfect time to get whatever it is they want from Turkey.
Nikolic would have to be on crack to think that Turkey is Serbia's friend so it makes me think that he is going this far in order to let him people know that something else is going on without spilling the beans.
Politics is very messy business and one has to be prepared to soil their hands. I doubt Serbia would do anything without Russia's nod so this could all the happening for a reason. Time will tell.
