I’m sorry to say but you have been watching too much CNN/Fox TV. These western bastions of free press are great at pointing the finger at everyone else whilst their US is suffering far worse. The low oil prices are due to Saudi Arabia pumping oil far more than its OPEC quota to bankrupt US companies that produce oil from shale and through the fraking process. The US is also affected by the low oil price, which something the free press forget to mention.
The US economy is teetering on returning to recession, as if it ever left. The Fed reserve is seriously thinking of lowering the interest rate. November job numbers looked reasonable until you analyse them where construction barely moved while it was zero for manufacturing. The job gains were mostly for waiters and waitresses.
The US is 20 trillion dollars in debt (that over 130% of GDP) while Russia’s debt to GDP is minuscule.
2016 looks like every country in the world could be looking at a recession.

Indeed, the US is affected too, like every country. They have to spend only 1/3 of the dollars they spend a year or two ago for importing oil. Everyone knows that the fracking doesn't pay off any more with prices below $40, and it's only logical that some of these companies will eventually go nakrupt.
But unless Russia, which lives on export of oil and gas (about 50% of its exports) which caused a heavy recession and devaluation of the Ruble, the US of A in sum is benefiting - like every other oil consumer country, while oil producer and exporter countries are suffering. You don't have to be a chief economist to see that, it's obvious for every high school student.

Yes Russia is in recession and so is the EU which is printing money. The US has been in a recession since 2008 and continues to this day while China is slowing down. The US Fed Reserve is now seriously talking of lowering interest rates, and that’s only after a very recent increase, because of the weak state of the US economy.
I agree that the Ruble is affected by the recession factor, but overall the devaluation of the Ruble was mainly due to intended market manipulation to bring Russia to its knees by the west i.e. US. The only people benefiting out of these manipulations are the banks/corporations and not the US government or its citizens.
There is constant paraphrasing about Russia suffering from sanctions, but no one can tell you anything about them except that Russia is suffering.
To produce shale oil it normally costs about $80/$90 per barrel and the current price is $37, you see just how much the US taxpayer is subsidising oil from shale. It all comes out of borrowed money.
There is a constant claim that Russia is in trouble, but the US is now 20 trillion in debt and, as if it’s protected by a special force field, there are no side effects.
Some people from the west are like automatons when anyone mentions Russia – their heads twirl and repeat that it’s doomed over and over again.
