The Saudi’s are now chewing through their reserves so if they continue producing too much oil they will go belly up
(sj, 21 December 2015 06:52)

Yup, that's true. The sad part though is that the Russians would have gone belly up long before then, because they too are chewing through their reserves and unfortunately the evil Saudis can live on their reserves for much longer. The Saudis' reserves are more than 80% of their GDP, whereas Russia's are less than 20% of Russia's GDP.

But, I think Russia may stand a chance if it hires the CE of B92 forums sj as an economic adviser since he/she has worked for a senior government official and a commercial bank in Malaysia! Not to mention that the CE of B92 forums sj can increase Russia's reserves by just writing a post here in the B92 forums!

However if I am wrong how is the EU going to survive without Russian gas?
(sj, 18 December 2015 10:02)

Exactly! That's a brilliant analysis that only the CE of B92 forums sj can produce... it also raises the question of how is Russia going to survive without the money it gets from the EU for its gas before the dream pipeline to China is built? Perhaps the Russians will change their metabolism and start feeding themselves with oil and gas!

(The Count of Kosova, 18 December 2015 21:17)

The reason we have a very low price for oil are several. First the Saudis are pumping oil beyond their OPEC quota so that they can bankrupt all those oil companies in the US which are extracting oil from shale or through the fracking. Secondly the price of oil is low because the economies of the world are sluggish to the point that the US Fed reserve is now contemplating lowering (right after increasing) interest rates because of “their fragile economic position”.
The Saudi’s are now chewing through their reserves so if they continue producing too much oil they will go belly up and meanwhile the EU is printing money to kick start its economy. The low price of oil is also hurting US multinationals while China looks like slowing so you see the entire world is having problems not just Russia.
I would not hold my breath waiting for Russia to go bankrupt anytime soon. There are more pressing concerns about the US.
Putin is only trying to divide the EU with this sanctions business because there is nothing in place that can hurt Russia. In fact Russia’s ban on EU foodstuffs is hurting Brussels more which means more subsidies to farmers to stay afloat.

Even if sanctions against Russia were lifted by the West, could Russia afford to sell oil at a loss. Remember, the price of oil has plummeted to less than $35/barrel, it costs Russia much more ( $60/barrel ) to get it out of the ground/ocean. As you see Putin has painted himself into a corner and is desperate to have Western sanctions lifted. Just ask rote, he has had to move into his grandma's tiny apartment and shares the bed with her.

Albanians in Kosovo need to strike a deal with Beograd (that works for you also)

Well, you are asking for a deal, so really it sounds that you need it more :)

But, ok, good... so what do you want as part of this deal to cure your hurt pride?

Serbs are fools to think their country would be successful in the EU: just look at Greece and other struggling neighbors who are in the EU.

Yeah, look at the Greeks... even though the EU humiliated them with the conditions attached to the bailout, pragmatism (i.e. the stomach) prevailed at the end (as always does) and they decided it was less worse to be in the EU than out. This is not a popularity contest but a game played on a large “chess board” and Russia cares little whether the Baltic countries or Poland like them. But all these countries cannot survive without Russian energy. What do you think the US is doing and very badly for that matter in the Middle east? Playing tick tack tow? Do you think that they are involved in Syria because they want to spread democracy? You watch too much CNN.
Why would the EU shake if Serbia becomes a member? Serbia is a small place and will have little effect on the EU.
Remember without energy the EU is in economic collapse. However if I am wrong how is the EU going to survive without Russian gas?

Serbia would be wiser to stay out of the EU and their bureaucratic dictatorship. The EU has caused Serbia to implement many harmful things, which have damaged the economy and hurt the people and have, bit by bit, sell out of Kosovo Serbs.

However if I am wrong how is the EU going to survive without Russian gas?

Our resident AI has asks another stupid question and one of the most difficult tasks in life is to show a stupid person that he/she is stupid.

I think your friend AI, whoever that might be, knows that old saying that there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers :)
