Who benefits in the EU... well the biggest corporations, the multinationals... they have a greater market to sell in with little to no tariffs... they multinationals have a greater supply of cheap labour and an educated work force which means they benefit... the people also benefit from increased employment, but it is not high wage employment... many countries are still stuck in the middle income trap and find it hard to transition into a high income society... in fact there has only been about 13 countries out of 90 countries since the 1980s which have made a successful transition from middle income to a high income society...

Albania never excelled in sport because of poor infrastructure, where are all the tennies courts, baskeball courts, olympic size swimming pools, soccer feilds and so on... where is the institution for sport and how does it compare to Germany or America... countries which win medals in sports and excel in sports have very well financed sports academys, they also have world class infrastructure which their athletes can train in... Albania does not do very well in sports because of these reasons, the leaders of the country never invested in sport or really promoted it.

Albanian Development has also suffered due to poor policy making, corruption, poor leadership after WWII and an underfunded education system... ardian, have a look at Japan, Singapore, South korea and most importantly Taiwan, all these countries invested heavily in education after WWII and taiwan at the end of WWII had the same GDP as Ghana... Taiwan invested heavily in education which increased its GDP significantly and now taiwan is a rich country... Taiwan, South korea, singapore and Hong Kong are known as the Tiger economies due to their rapid growth after WWII, it was their policies and most importantly their investment in education which allowed for such rapid growth...

With the right government and right policies many countries would be able to achieve similar rapid growth as the tiger economies in asia...

Albania became just recently something like a country. In last 3-4 thousand years we can talk about some relatively primitive mountain tribes who had no writing.
The coastal parts were settled by Roman settlers and they were better off. Things started to be (quite) better around 11th - 13th century and you can find some really nice churches (frescoes!) around Kastoria, now Greece. These frescoes can't be compared with, say, Humor (that's not a joke, it's Humor like Monastery in Romania) or Studenica or Mileshevo in Serbia. Decani is rather quantity than quality (of frescoes) but never the less, it's quite overwhelming as you enter it.

If you go to Ukraine or Russia than you see similar things but with Viking or Rus flavor.

Look at China, 1.4 billion people, China is abundant in low skilled labour and therefore the wages are low, but minimum wage has been increasing steadily in China because of labour in the bigger cities has been decreasing and more demand for workers increases.

If a supermarket experiences a shortage of labour and high demand then it would have no choice but to increase wages to attract more workes.

The wages in supermarkets differ around the world as a result of the above factors. Your supermarket may be earning millions in profit and could increase your wages, but many of us live in capitalist countries with business owners that are hungry for profit. They must pay you minimum wage and increase prices to make profit so that they may invest that capital and build more supermarkets... governments accept this because more supermarkets means more employment, which means more revenue for government. This is what capitalism is all about, making profit, investing that profit to create more employment and even more profit.

So, the "rich" give 300 million TODAY and the "poor" give back 600 million, but NOT TODAY, rather over many years in the future. In a nutshell, Your Highness Count - I do not deny being a "typical East European blowhard". But they (Americans) were dumb enough not only beg me to come, they even volunteered to pay for my H1B and for my "Green Card" and told me "thank you" and "please".

I could be lucky - but I really never wanted to go there. I just sold myself because at one point the bid was high enough, babies were coming and extra Dollar never hurts. That's how I became "American". I never even mentioned the word "asyl" and "please help me". To the contrary - we paid their taxes and social security even before settling there and as non-resident alien even over-paid them.

My conscience is 100% clear, I never received a single Cent from American public money, be it State or Federal level. And to be honest, I am not comfortable to ask them.

Minimum wage is determined by many factors, by GDP, per capita income, purchasing power parity and most importantly the supply demand of Labour... supermarkets by law must pay minimum wage, but they could pay higher wages if they wanted to and if they could afford to.

Look at China, 1.4 billion people, China is abundant in low skilled labour and therefore the wages are low, but minimum wage has been increasing steadily in China because of labour in the bigger cities has been decreasing and more demand for workers increases.

If a supermarket experiences a shortage of labour and high demand then it would have no choice but to increase wages to attract more workes.

The wages in supermarkets differ around the world as a result of the above factors. Your supermarket may be earning millions in profit and could increase your wages, but many of us live in capitalist countries with business owners that are hungry for profit. They must pay you minimum wage and increase prices to make profit so that they may invest that capital and build more supermarkets... governments accept this because more supermarkets means more employment, which means more revenue for government. This is what capitalism is all about, making profit, investing that profit to create more employment and even more profit.

In a nutshell, Your Highness Count - I do not deny being a "typical East European blowhard". But they (Americans) were dumb enough not only beg me to come, they even volunteered to pay for my H1B and for my "Green Card" and told me "thank you" and "please".

I could be lucky - but I really never wanted to go there. I just sold myself because at one point the bid was high enough, babies were coming and extra Dollar never hurts. That's how I became "American". I never even mentioned the word "asyl" and "please help me". To the contrary - we paid their taxes and social security even before settling there and as non-resident alien even over-paid them.

My conscience is 100% clear, I never received a single Cent from American public money, be it State or Federal level. And to be honest, I am not comfortable to ask them.

Until I retire. And if I retire I know, I still over-paid because if you live outside of U.S., you receive Social Security only, no Medicare - even if you contributed to Medicare for decades.

There you go, your Highness Mr. Count - if you immigrate on H1B you will be in the same boat. But you still have to denounce any nobility title like Count or Marquis before you apply to the citizenship. Your beloved Clint ruled that having multiple citizenships is OK. But no noble title, to bad for you.

But their Social Security as much people may complain about it is still one of the best - if you contribute enough and work your butt off there for a while.

Albania never excelled in sport because of poor infrastructure, where are all the tennies courts, baskeball courts, olympic size swimming pools, soccer feilds and so on... where is the institution for sport and how does it compare to Germany or America... countries which win medals in sports and excel in sports have very well financed sports academys, they also have world class infrastructure which their athletes can train in... Albania does not do very well in sports because of these reasons, the leaders of the country never invested in sport or really promoted it.

Albanian Development has also suffered due to poor policy making, corruption, poor leadership after WWII and an underfunded education system... ardian, have a look at Japan, Singapore, South korea and most importantly Taiwan, all these countries invested heavily in education after WWII and taiwan at the end of WWII had the same GDP as Ghana... Taiwan invested heavily in education which increased its GDP significantly and now taiwan is a rich country... Taiwan, South korea, singapore and Hong Kong are known as the Tiger economies due to their rapid growth after WWII, it was their policies and most importantly their investment in education which allowed for such rapid growth...

With the right government and right policies many countries would be able to achieve similar rapid growth as the tiger economies in asia...

What a BS!!! Money has time value, mate. 1 EUR today is worth more than 1 EUR next year. So, the "rich" give 300 million TODAY and the "poor" give back 600 million, but NOT TODAY, rather over many years in the future. The TODAY's value of those 600 million future payments is EXACTLY 300 million, so the transfer of wealth is 0!
