Furthermore, the Federal Reserve is talking of raising interest rates and this is not because the US economy is booming, but simply to avoid inflation rising through the roof
(sj, 4 December 2015 11:21)

EUREKA!!! A central bank is raising interest rates to avoid inflation!!! The greatest discovery of the 21st century by the CE of B92 forums sj. That's why all the readers of the B92 forums are so lucky to have such a giant of economics thinking here as the CE of B92 forums sj!

Perhaps the CE of B92 forums sj can also educate us on how much is the real US inflation as compared to the double digit one in, say, Russia. I'm sure that the US government is lying and the real inflation in the US is much higher than in Russia, but I don't know the precise number - only the CE of B92 forums sj with his/her reliable sources can provide real numbers.

Russia did not become bankrupt under Yeltsin. It was already bankrupt under the Soviet Union and that is why it fell apart. Yeltsin only took over after the fact not before.
I hate to burst your bubble but oil being at less than $50 per barrel is also hurting the US and Washington is borrowing $1 trillion dollars per year with the current debt at $20 trillion and rising. Furthermore, the Federal Reserve is talking of raising interest rates and this is not because the US economy is booming, but simply to avoid inflation rising through the roof with all that printed money coming back to the US.
The US has to make some very drastic cut backs and one such major area is social security. The music has stopped and now it’s time to pay the piper.
I was in Russia in June this year and I am interested to know when were you there since you claim to know that its economy is crumbling?

(Leonidas, 3 December 2015 17:36)

Not complete countries, he tries it with regions: Crimea, and all the puppet states created by Putin: South Ossetia, Abchasia, Transnistria, not to mention the self-declared 'republics' of Donesk and Luchansk.

And no, neither Erdogan nor Putin raised the living standard, they were raised under Putin and Erdogan, for the reasons I mentioned above, and not because of these glorious leaders.

Does it surprise anyone that Russia got bankrupt under Yeltsin, with an crude oil price of 10-20$, while it piled money under Putin with an oil price around 100$ and even more, having in mind that oil and gas are responsible for more than 2/3 of Russia's exports and foreign exchange proceeds? Even now, with oil prices around 50$, Russia is burning it's piled money reserves every month, the economy is crumbling, and the average Russian feels the consequences (of course not Putin's oligarch friends and billionaires)

On the Russian TV a can hear the Armenians, the Greeks, Kurds, Arabs, Russians ect. And all of them offer their own sad stories of the past. Everybody paints the Turks in one color mostly the black but let’s be reasonable. Since 1453 when the Ottoman empire started t form we had at least 3 periods when this empire was quite different. What I can hear today is concerned mostly the 19-20 centuries and I agree it. But before that we had the empire that broke away from the destroyed Horde (Mongol-Tatar) and it was a different state in 17-18 centuries when the Greeks, Armenians, Serbs, Albanians and Russians formed the elite of the empire. It was the best place to live compared to Europe with it 130 years of Reformation wars and Inquisition where no Orthodox or Muslim or Jewish religions could survive while 75% of the population on German lands was massacred. The first genocide of the Greeks, the Armenians and the Copts was provoked by the Brits in early 19 century. Meanwhile in 15-16 centuries the Ottomans were subjects of the Great Horde and obeyed Veliki Novgorod. Thus at least shared the responsibility for everything they were doing. Ataturk hated the Ottomans more than any Greek because he was a Turkish nationalist. And this is why he massacred the Greeks the Armenians, the Yezids. Since 1826 when the Yanissary were massacred. Ottomans and Turks were enemies while Erdogan tries to love them both.

He urged countries against having double standards when it comes to terrorism,

Turkey has always been playing double, triple games due to its geographic position but the fact of the matter is Turkey does not care neither for the EU, nor for NATO/US, but it hold them both by the balls (ports for NATO, refugee flux for the EU) and only cares for Turkey and the Sultan's dreams to build his own Caliphate. This explains the bombing of the Kurds and the feeding of IS which is supposed to oust Assad. However, if Russia was closing a semi-eye on the border dealings, this has come to an end, Erdogan will be tracked.
