With 85 000 tourist hostages in the region Russia simply could not admit the evident before the evacuation was finished. What is bad half of the Russian tourists went to Turkey that is nothing better from security point of view.

Starting with Saudi royal family supporting ISIS and ending with Assad I just can't pick anyone there (except Israel, of course) who does not deserve to be near the bottom of a large radioactive crater.

Investigations involving any type of disaster takes time to provide evidence. Western media were fed by western intelligence sources and headlines such as “Terrorists down Russian plane” came out within a couple of days. It’s all to do with we are smarter. They did not know the cause they were just guessing.
That particular aircraft was owned by a German company and leased to Metrojet. In 2012, the airplane had a bad very landing at Cairo Airport where the tail section hit the tarmac and the initial suspicion was that this part had broken off mid-flight as a result of that landing.
No Hamas or Hezbollah did not do that. It was ISIS were they have about 1200 Albanians in their ranks. The real problem is Egyptian security is total crap.

1) There were tens of thousands of Russian tourists in the area. And about twice as much Brits. It took some time to evacuate them and the last thing what was desired was a panic.

To tell the truth... the majority of Russians and Brits tourists there are simple working people, very easy to scare. We are not talking about Nobel Prize candidates. The prices are such, that an extensive holiday in E.U. or in Russia does costs more than in Egypt.

The entire evacuation was done in both UK and RU quietly, see the reason above.

2) Until traces of explosive are found, all clues from FBI or FSB are just clues. It is better to assume mechanical failure.

3) A loud tam-tam beating could scare the criminals and they may remove certain traces. Luckily, as much as we may laugh at cops, the criminals are usually more stupid than the cops. BTW: that's why they are criminals.

Wish they'd give more details, such as any residue formulation that points to a bomb and which type it was. And what about the black box and voice recordings - what does that indicate was going on?
