Serbia bought 65% of mighty "Srpska" telecom lol for 650 million Euros. When Serbia tried to sell Serbia telecom. The biggest offer for it was only 400 million Euros. What is wrong with the picture. I'm positive a lot of government criminals got big kick backs. The ever poorer Serb tax payers got screwed and robed again by its upper criminal classes.

Leaders of the United Union of Telekom Srbija and the Union of Telekom Srbija Slavoljub Kandic and Miroslav Joksimovic said in their speeches that the company should not be sold "as it is doing well and fulfilling all its obligations toward the state and citizens"

Yes, Telekom Srbija is doing well, but it's not surprising when this monopoly company is ripping off the customers. How cam it be that I can call from Europe to most other European countries for a few cent, but for Serbia (and Bosnia), I have to pay 3-6x more? Not to mention the rates for Serbian customers when they want to call their relatives in other countries.

Maybe a better way than to privatize Telekom Srbija would be to allow more competition - but in the end, this would be even worse for the workers because Telekom Srbija is far from being competitive.

Most of the UK's assets have been privatised. What you end up with is a service that is almost identical and a load of very rich businessmen. There are other ways to make national industries more efficient aside from selling them for a quick pile of cash.

We should agree with the workers. This is a profitable company and doesn't need help from the asset-strippers of the USA and EU. They bring nothing but greed, misery and job losses to the table of this already impoverished nation. The time for re-nationalisation and an end to corruption has arrived and not the time for selling off the family silver.
