Elections are not in the interests of Serbian citizens given that they were held less than 2 years ago - and that only 2 years into the SNS ruled government. There was no reason to have even suggested the possibility.

Or was there a reason....? Perhaps I am being cynical and the reason Vucic declared he would decide on elections by end Sept. then Mid Oct. was because he thought his "EU friends" (notably Germany & UK) would do as they implied and get the opening of chapters announced. This was not to materialise instead we now have indecent proposals being added as amendments to chapter 35 - sure the Germans know too well opening the chapter is not recognition but ask them what it will mean to close chapter 35? Recognition by any other name.... I hope Vucic realises that he needs to not waste time and the opportunity he has had (thus far 3 years lost) - if he must keep the (hollow) EU mantra fine but focus on reforms that truly are in Serbia's interest not the EU (nor for that matter IMF) specific ones but because they are essential in themselves. Get on with remodelling Serbia's institutional structure from the ground up based on what will work here not one superimposed from the EU.

Vucic take control and lead in the best direction for Serbia not the best for the EU!

Lead the reforms that all are only too aware must happen though dread the change because of fear it means a loss of work. Change must be an inclusive process for it to be fully adopted. Serbia should rid itself of the archaic paperwork of workbooks, healthcards paperwork galore to employ a single employee - this is by and far a waste to business resources and public in all the paperwork that frankly serve little purpose. Overhaul the tax system with a progressive low tax economy - minimise incentive to not declare workforce who are employed illegally while placing stringent punishment for those that continue to employ illegally. Equally showing full and complete transparency on where and how those tax dinars are spent wisely!

Serbians need to recall the importance of the tax system - the money paid is all ours so to not pay is theft from ourselves and more so from the future generation who stand disadvantaged with a nation devoid of infrastructure worthy of the 21st century (currently on a par with 19th century) - every dinar in tax earned for the state must be traceable and every dinar counts greatly to making Serbia a better state.
