So, now that we know that this guy is the leader of an Austrian party, his opinion can obviously be ignored since he is not speaking for a court and did not provide any arguments other than because he says so!

You really do like to look like a dill don't you. No, he is not speaking for the court but I'm pretty sure he is familiar with Resolution 1244 and capable of expressing an informed opinion.
(Peggy, 20 October 2015 00:37)

Well, I did not say he cannot express an opinion... He is free to repeat it three times a day before meals. I said that his opinion can obviously be ignored since he is not speaking for a court and he did not provide any arguments. People usually are not sheep to just believe something because somebody says so.

Being an homo sapiens and using the brain just a bit, I checked UNSCR 1244 and it says nowhere that a "Kosovo's request for membership in UNESCO/international organizations shall not be considered". So why should we believe this guy since (1) he is not a court, (2) he does not speak for the UNSC and (3) he did not provide (or B92 ommitted) any arguments to support his position?!!!

I am not speaking for the court when I say that I can't sell my neighbour's vegetable garden but I am pretty sure I know what I'm talking about.

Of course, I'm sure you know yourself better than anybody else to be able to say what you are not able to do :)

Actually, he is the leader of Austria's most popular political party currently.

Thx for the info... the B92 reporter who wrote this "news story", in his/her enthusiasm of having found somebody who said "considering the request for Kosovo's UNESCO admission, it would be a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1244." forgot to write who that somebody was, how, where and when the statement was made, etc etc... :)

The Albanians were in Kosova long before the Serbs arrived and will remain there long after the Serbs choose to leave. UNESCO has been established in order to respond to the firm belief of nations, forged by two world wars in less than a generation, that political and economic agreements are not enough to build a lasting peace. Peace must be established on the basis of humanity’s moral and intellectual solidarity.

But lets be truly honest, the only guarantee right now, that Serbia with the participation of Serbs in Kosovo will not repeat their dealings in 99 is the establishment of the temporary security forces of NATO/Kfor. And it is still widely held belief that without this protection Serbia will attempt to finish its program. So it has everything to do with what Serbia did in the past. THAT is the reason for trying to get Serbia locked into the EU for control.
The constitution (enacted 4 years after 2004) of the newly formed govt of Kosovo gives protection to Serbs, so any country that believes Kosovo is a newly established country, then they would believe in the establishement of this protection.
So your argument has no substance other than to other Serbs.
Also the opinion of this Stache is also just an individual opinion and does not represent the stand of Austria as a country which is the determining factor on how Austria will vote.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but that does not mean the opinion is right.

Let's be honest:
There is no guarantee that, in case of some big-scale public disturbance in Kosovo (like the revolts of March 2004), Serb and Roma communities, including religious sites, would not be attacked by Albanians.
Unfortunately for Albanians in Kosovo, the tragic events of March 2004 cannot be denied. This casts a shadow over Pristina plans to join UNESCO.

Also, this has nothing to do with what Serbs did to Albanians before 1999. However, due to NATO military intervention, Albanians got the power in Kosovo, and Serbs were reduced to a vulnerable minority. But, in March 2004, Albanians simply forgot the famous line from Spiderman movie: "with great power comes great responsibility".

I know that only 50,000 Albanians, mostly youngsters, participated in the riots, but there are many reports of international organizations saying the same about the reaction of Kosovo Albanian community: the attacks on Serbs and Roma were downplayed by political leaders and ignored by the media, or even distorted (the victims were blamed and Albanians were presented again as victims!), no excuses were expressed in most of the cases, or the language used for such excuses was weak, hesitant and without effect. Albanians thought that they did teach international community a lesson, and indeed, they obtained the start of debate regarding the final status of Kosovo. But March 2004 effects, as one can see even today, are still a stain on the international image of Kosovo Albanians.

Actually, he is the leader of Austria's most popular political party currently. Not that his opinion will shape the outcome of whether the KLA get a seat at UNESCO. But so what? He's entitled to give his opinion because the thoughts of the cyber Albanian terrorists will not have any affect whether the KLA get to steal more Serbian property either.

This guy has never really gotton a chance to figure out who the Albanians are, the way they are genetically programmed, that Albanians put their nationality first, before religion, before political party's, period! I'm a Roman Catholic Christian, and never once has an Albanian brother of mine that practices Islam tried an any way to discriminate against me, to the contrary they have shown me respect in all different ways & vice versa!!! During the war in 98-99 Christians fought side by side against a barbaric & radical Serbia, we've been doing it this way for millennia, and will continue on the very same path never swaying a millimeter! We've done it thru the Roman, ottoman, Serbian occupations and will do it again until the end of time! You forget in 98-99 that it was Serbia with its tanks and canons that was the one destroying religious sites indiscriminately! Great, we have radical Christians voicing their opinions on matters they have no clue about. We have never been targeted by Muslims in Kosova, one might have to ask thus question, why have things turned out for Serbs the way they did in Yugoslavia as a whole. Perhaps because they have been brutalized, mistreated, and tortured by Serbias for a long time.
