I just laugh when I read the governments and people of the EU complaining that there are too many Muslim refugees entering Europe and how it should be kept "Christian". What is even more hilarious is that the same nations bombed Serbia for the sole reason that Serbia was actually waging war against Muslim extremists. I say welcome to the refugees and may they overpopulate the EU because there is only one group that can be blamed for this overflow of immigrants, the EU!

So the fact that they are genetically same people they say they are not the same and are not our friends.
(Peggy,

We're not the same people genetically. If you click on Syria on the link below you'll see that only 0.4% of the population of Syria are related on side 2 with Greeks.I didn't answer the person who made this comment because he's an imposter.

Has it ever occurred to you that some of these refugees from Syria may be genetically closer to Greeks than the Greeks themselves.

So what? Does it really matter? The only thing that matters is who these people say they are now and what their belief is. Obviously their values and way of life is not compatible with Europe and they don't belong there. Bosnian Muslims were once Christian themselves before they either willingly converted or were forced to convert to Islam but look at them now. They hate Christians. So the fact that they are genetically same people they say they are not the same and are not our friends.

It can be because since early 19 century the Greeks and Armenians that stayed in other parts of the Ottoman Empire were massacred so some of them had to accept Islam. Also in the medieval times the Greeks were called (at least in Crimea) all Christians because the other name of the Christianity was The Greek Belef. Third reason why it can be is that when in 16-17 centuries J.Scaliger (scale maker !) and D.Petavius sucked from their fingers our current history they deliberately changed names of many peoples.

P.S. Because their main goal was to legalize the newly appeared states headed by Horde’s former governors. But to do that they had to wipe off any mentioning of the Great Horde that ruled the world for 3-5 centuries. Last month I started to read history of Turkey and I reached year of 1486. Many times were mentioned Serbia, Bulgaria, Venetia , Germany ect.ect. Only one state wasn’t mentioned yet … Yes it was Russia that fought them most often and that destroyed their Empire before 20 century …

It says a lot that these people want to go to the EU and Germany in particular.

It makes a joke of all those on these pages who love to rubbish the EU, snipe and Germany and say how brilliant Russia and Serbia are.

That said, I agree that these are economic migrants. None are direct entrants from Syria, so none should be expected to stay indefinitely.

I am amazed at Germany saying they will take them - that opens the doors to many hundreds of thousands more.

It is wrong to leave the Syrian situation unresolved. Russia will not let Assad be overthrown, so it is really for Russia to ensure a diplomatic solution where possible, and to smash the evil so-called IS to nothing.

As for the Christian heritage - thank you very much for the gentle history, but the world is moving on. The Christian heritage is preferable to Islam, but neither is legitimate.

Atheism is not a movement or organisation - unlike formalised political and religious groupings. However, there are lots of us who see that the myth of religion is not justified given our much updated understanding of where the universe and where life originated.

Religious explanations were fine in the days of ignorance, but those days are now past.

Just why are so many Muslim refugeesso anxious to exit Turkey and head for northern Europe. There is no war in Turkey, no one is shooting at them or bombing them there, they are in a safe country and in a predominately Muslim country as well. Surely a fellow Muslin country is more suitable to their desires than any “infidel” Christian/atheist country unless of course their intentions are to move to western europe.Once they left Turkey, they became economic migrants. Economic migrants are sweeping across Europe, not refugees. The migrants are deliberately presenting Europe with a fait accompli because they don't want to wait whilst applying for entry through the usual channels and/or because they know their applications would be refused for good reasons.

This prime minister has no compassion. He reminds me of a politician that's there to serve himself rather than the people. Perhaps typical of most politicians of the former eastern bloc countries that use their position primarily for personal gain. I'm not sure he understands his role. If I had any influence in Hungary I'd remove him instantly.

Hungary is the most sane country in Europe. We are talking about an invasion of Europe. In less than 20 years my hometown of Malmoe have gone from a 92% swedish population to 40% muslim population. In 20 years!!! This had to stop or Europe will become like the countries these people are leaving. Europe is doomed if this continues.

"That is an important question, because Europe and European culture have Christian roots...."

The EU's policy of excluding Muslims is best exemplified by the the containment wall they have erected around KiM.

You're slipping, man.
