Behave yourself little puppy or we won't let you into the EU. You should send this article to the European Parliament because they probably don't know or care who this guy is, much less about what he has to say. Just do as you're told.

Russia is backward and primitive ? ! With all that history, heroism in WWII, literature , ballet , classical music, first in space nation in human history, achievements in science, high education ? I would like to learn from people who say things like this , where are they from and what exactly is their nation's achievement in these fields ; or any others. Show us the proof.

The EU does not have an army. NATO is not the EU's military branch.

Imagine if the EU tried to form an army. Think of the money problems it has already and add the cost of a Union army.

The FM is right, the military affairs of the member's countries are none of the EU's business and that certainly goes for contenders as well.

I don't understand this fascination with Russia because in my experience Serbs are so modern and European, while Russians are so backward and primitive.
(LK)

Maybe you don’t understand because you’re not one of us. Besides you are pregnant with panic and desperation. Do you really believe that you have a single chance to change anything in our relations ? Be realistic as we are already present on the Balkans. After we swallow our south lands around Lvov, Odessa, Kiev and Dubossari we’ll be close neighbors. Then you will see how backward are those who sent their last spaceship a day before you enriched the B92 content with your new comment.

Also if I start to list the technical or cultural or sport or other tribute of Russia to the mankind you will die of envy. Moreover the way last week I looked through the famous Shqiptars and I have to disappoint you once again. Not only Scanderbeg but also Mohammad Ali of Egypt was not one of you. He could be only a Caucasian Cherkess (an Ossetian, Chechen, Adig ect.) or a Kubansky Cossack. Forget about him. Also I have some doubts about Mehmed-Pasha Koprulu but here I am not sure yet.

Sounds as if someone can do it before being bombed into the dust. So if it were of someone’s interest they could do it … And even with the conventional weapons we could quite reach the Channel in a couple of months I think. So please stop dreaming and be serious tonight.

Finally!!! Someone told the EU to mind it's own business! Excellent Dacic!!! If Orban in Hungary (An EU Member) can do it, we definitely have every right to.

Wow, for a second I all most admired his principled stance but then my senses came back to me. This is theater for the gullible, Serbia’s political class are nothing more than enablers for integration into the EU/Trans-Atlantic corporate empire. Yeah Dacic, you need better acting classes, good try though, and maybe when it is NATO that is doing the reprimanding you will show your constituents how high White men can jump.

I think the possible early elections is the main reason of the change of the tune. Also EU has a good American migrant bone in it Deep Throat now and Serbia can be a good guy or a bad one. So for the first time Serbia has something to bargain with. Western elites as you must know have little to do with the Christian morality so it may be the only language that they do understand. At least I liked the statement Dacic has made even if he steps back this evening …

It is a fact that countries give up a certain amount of sovereignty when joining the EU. Either you conform to join the club or you decide to not join. Seems simple to me.

Hank the Tank: Actually Hank, no, Serbia cannot do what it likes where the EU is concerned. Although not yet a member as you correctly point out, Serbia has signed an SAA the provisions of which would have made it clear that certain conformity with EU policy is expected during the accession process. This makes perfect sense as it is not possible to change government policy overnight. Whether or not it makes sense for Serbia to join the EU is another matter entirely and it is this that those in power, and possibly the population through a referendum, need to decide. Comments like those from Dacic will cause raised eyebrows in Brussels and give the impression that either he isn't too bothered about membership or he thinks that irrespective of how the government speaks and acts Serbia will be allowed to join the EU 'on the nod'

Just wondering

pre 8 godina

@Hank the Tank

You're absolutely right Serbia can do what it wants, but what I'm saying is that the way a country acts also has an effect on whether or not they will be accepted to join.

So it seems to me that a decision needs to be made. Either decide to join and conform or decide not to join and do whatever you want.

Unfortunately, the people are probably divided when it comes to this question.

@rote

I think you got something mixed up. Ukraine is not an EU candidate. It does not officially have candidate status like Serbia and other countries.

NATO does not offer membership to any country, a country needs to apply for membership on their own and then fulfill certain criteria, mainly political, before it can be accepted as a member.

Also... sorry but I don't believe it's all some secret plot. I don't believe in conspiracy theories. I believe in what can be seen and proven.

Destroying Russia would not be in anybody's interest overall.

Finally someone with cojones putting eu in their place. Serbia does not need to join eu. it will be disastrous to them. conforming and bowing to the tank known as merkel and losing kosovo to become a puppet for her. stick with Russia and tell the eu to jam it where the sun dont shine.

(Just wondering)

Formally you are right if only NATO and EU is one club. But if so why some of NATO members are not in EU and some EU candidates like Ukraine are not even offered to join NATO ? It's evident that the local rivals of Serbia would like to use outside forces to destroy their will power. But times are are changing and you will have to destroy Russia first.

Just wondering

OK so this is interesting:

If Serbia wants to join the EU then Dacic needs to consider a thing called CSDP. Going against EU policy won't help.

On the other hand,if Serbia does not want to join the EU then Dacic is completely right and hat's off to him.
