Intervening? Of course not! It's only Russian air force pilots spending their 'holidays' in the Syrian air, with Russia generously allowing them to use the military planes as a means of transportation to reach their holiday destination.

Unfortunately the russians can't, if they tried, they would reveal their inferior weapons and be laughed at.

Serbian hawk

Inferior weapons compared to whom? The cameljockeys they are bombing?
If you are a Serbian hawk then I'm an intelligent albanian.

So what of they bomb the daylights out of the islamic state? If the US can do it so can the Russians.

Hank the Skank,

Avni of course I disagree but in the Russian language there’s one interesting word used very often. Parallel to the well known ДА&НЕТ (YES&NO) we also have a respond ДА НЕТ meaning NO. Maybe this word misleads you because otherwise I don’t know why you say this.

As for our Balkan brothers they are put in a difficult position for more than 2 decades now. Being attacked from outside and from inside so sometimes their statements and steps really contradict. But it’s not a genetic or national tradition problem. They simply don’t suck like their neighbors do.

Russia must pull out of Crimea and let it go back to whom it belongs, the Ukraine. If not ... miserable winter with nothing to eat except for "road kill", but I don't think Russians can acquire a taste for dead rats.

Please stop dreaming as you look miserable. If you mean the country I am living in you know nothing about us. We need only “vodka and seledka” to survive and we don’t sell ourselves. The sanctions you are talking about mean not much for us and sometimes they are even useful as we can forget about WTO rules and develop our own industries. The only sanction that hurts us is the finance. It’s been 16 years now that Putin is at the rule and he failed to do the things he must be regretting now. I mean the industries that were not developed during the oil rain times when we were buying potatoes from Egypt ect. As for Crimea it’s a closed isuue. Moreover in Russian media people discuss the mechanism how the rest of Ukraine and Transdniestria will be entering Russia. Most say that they will be welcomed as separate regions and that Ukraine will never be revived. Don’t waste your lifetime for waiting of our fall. This morning our troops together with the Serbians marched in Beijing to mark the end of WW2. Because we have what to mark while Nazi sucker Europe was represented only by the Czech president. For them it’s a mourning day we know.

Let's hope the Russians are doing something. Somebody ought to. Anyone with a shred of decency should be gleefully bombing these murdering scum with joyful abandonment.

Does anyone believe what Putin says! The only reason Russia would ever volunteer to bomb ISIS is that they are trying to suck up to the U.S. in hopes that sanctions will be lessened, as they is destroying the Russian economy. Oil, currently at $40 per barrel and Russia's only commodity, has prevented Russia from pumping it since it costs Russia more than $40/barrel to get it out of the ground. Hence, Russia is desperate and will do almost anything to have the sanctions lifted. However, only one action from Russia will cause sanctions to be lifted. We all know what that is: Russia must pull out of Crimea and let it go back to whom it belongs, the Ukraine. If not, then the Russian people should prepare for a miserable winter with nothing to eat except for "road kill", but I don't think Russians can acquire a taste for dead rats.

Disappointed 😞
News broke yesterday via a Greek source and on a UK Veteran site it was widely applauded.

If B92 article is correct there's going to be a lot of unhappy chappies!

Shame, as I believe Russia would have been quite effective.

If not - why not?

Russia has been a supporter of Assad, yet this fighting has gone on too long with the loss of far too many innocent lives. Perhaps Russia should consider involving itself in some level of stabilisation for the region rather than let this mess go on indefinitely.

The only legitimate sanctions are those of the UNSC while neither Syria nor Russia is under such sanctions. So there’s not a single restriction of any military cooperation between these two free and (what is a rare thing) independent countries. They both can do anything that does not contradict what is still called the “international law”. Yet Russia is not going to be directly involved to the Middle East wars other than within a UN SC approved coalition. It was said several times by Putin and by Lavrov. So the speculations in the Jewish media have no foundation. Meanwhile we all know that Russia supplies arms to Syria and it can quite be Russian made planes with Syrian pilots all of whom graduated from the Soviet or Russian military institutions. Direct involvement of Russia would be a too big gift to the Yankees and their suckers. But as far as I can judge Putin is not in a Santa Klaus mood this year. Finally most of the experts I know believe that the Middle East configuration will be changing drastically. And in one of the scenario Israel may be involved on Assad’s side rather soon …
