Closer and closer and closer ... Seriously, how close to joining the EU is actually opening the chapters? But Serbia is not even there yet. And Serbia is no fool. It is not falling all over itself trying to become a member of the EU. But meanwhile there are things that need doing and if they can satisfy the EU at the same, so be it.

Mike, I agree. But then how long is this going to go for. Serbia preactically has no control over Kosovo and as much as Serbs don't appreciate seeing it drift away from them, what else can be done? Kosovo is costing the Serbian people a hefty price, no freedom of movement, no free trade, no support to upgrade old infrastructure little tourism. The Serbian economy is slowly deteriorating and living has become slightly unbearable. I know the EU won't solve everything, but look at what it's done for countries like Poland or Lithuania. So many people are jobless in Serbia, at least those will have the chance to work abroad. As bad as you may think the EU is, Serbia does not have much to lose as things can't really get much worse than they are now.

As much as we don't want to, lets sign the bloody agreements. Not for us, but for our children and future generations.

What happened to being neutral? Do we really need to be in the EU? Should we drift into an abysmal existence like Romania, Bulgaria, Greece or even Croatia? Those coutries are now fully controlled and owned by outside influence. The EU is not good for Southern European countries. If you have to sign 'agreements' to join the club, it won't end well.
