As long as they are not staying, Serbia, one of the most islamophobic countries in the world, can afford to pretend to be tolerant.

This situation is here to stay however, Greece has opened that valve, and more and more refugees will come. We'll see where Serbian tolerance is in a few weeks time.

I think native people are worried for their culture and lifestyle and ancient traditions. This crisis can change a small country and people will not like it. You can be looking at years before migrants get accepted to another country. This certainly would put a strain on the locals. An analogy would be like someone shoving into your family a strange kid to have to take care of whether you like it or not. Sure they say their goal is to head north and westward but who's to say that none won't want to just make Serbia their new home? I agree that why couldn't they have gone to other countries in the middle east where they have more culture similarities? Someone must have guided them up the Balkan path on purpose.

If these maggots even think about trying to pass through Croatia, we will make sure we drown them one by one in the Danube.

HAHAHAHA! Look at the little Ustasha talk big. First, get it through your head that you don't live in Croatia.

And note how they're all going to Hungary, not Croatia since Croats are leaving for Central Europe too.

@Peggy.

These retards could have focused on entering wealthy Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia & Qatar. Instead they want to enter Christian countries to destroy our way of life, all because we are to soft. I can tell you now.... If these maggots even think about trying to pass through Croatia, we will make sure we drown them one by one in the Danube. Vucic isto soft..... Does he want another Ottoman problem in his country.

Finally Serbian People have a smart and visionary politicians. Serbia has a chance now to show the world their human side, that they do have it. Alexander Vucic is a smart politician they should support him he is working to build bridges in the region that is important for Serbian people because their trade and economy is dependent in trade and good relation with your neighbors. I am Albanian who loves Albania but can not forget the hospitality of Yogosllavia then when I was a refuge in 1985. I lived in Beograd for five months and I was treated well by Serbians. I have good memories in Beograd I would like to visit again when I will feel safe as Albanian American, I would like to show my family around that great city. I am American now and I never forgot those difficult days when I escaped communist Albania. All those refugies and their children will be thankfull to Serbia one day, They are not going to stay in Serbia they are just passing by. This is again an opportunity to show how hospital Serbians are. Great job Alexander Vucic.

It's not the immigrants fault. Rally against the government for allowing a wide open border for them to come in to a country that does not have the means to provide for them. They aren't coming into Bulgaria because that option is not made available by the Bulgarian government. Hungary's gov't is taking measures to make sure they no longer come in there. Only Vucic Gandhi is opening the door wide open so it's not the fault of the migrants for coming in the first place.

They are passing through two countries by the time they get to Serbia. Greece and Macedonia are obviously not controlling them either and if you want Serbia to give them a Medical exam and treat their sickness if any then Greece and Macedonia have failed to do it in the first place.
Serbia is not in EU and still opens their border to migrant but Croatia who boasts how tolerand, democratic and good hearted they are are not receiving any. Now why is that? Why can't they go to Croatia and cross Hungarian border from there? Serbia should usher them to Croatian border and let them worry about their relationship with Hungary. They are buddies aren't they?

Rocky : I'm wondering what the Russians are thinking of Serbia at this time, as Russia is probably the biggest supporter of Assad & his people?

Rocky it’s so simple ! Russia supports both Serbia and the legal government of Syria where the brave man with a name of a Lion (Assad) fights for almost 4 years against all the bastards whom the USA send to this country. As for Serbia we support them automatically. One way or another it happened in 1877 with the Ottomans in 1914 with Germany/Austria in 1915 with Bulgaria in 1941 with Europe and in 1999 with NATO … Last time it wasn’t effective so we have a debt to pay out at the first opportunity.

Serbia and Assad are the small part of the long list of those whom Russia helps to survive against the overseas Evil Of The World. This is why outside the Anglo-Saxon (Oldenburgs) zone of influence we have so many friends. We encourage China, India, Pakistan, Iran, South Africa, Latin America, Hungary, post-Soviet states, Iraq, Afghanistan, many non-legalized states, Macedonia, Viet Nam, Laos ect. ect. to stand for their dignity and statehood. So Serbs have little to worry about their future.

Dveri, Nasi and Obraz. Need to be outlawed by Serbia period! When Serbian military forces uprooted the 1 million Albanian inhabitants of the Repiblic of Kosovo all surrounding country's in the Balkans took them in to give them safe refuge, Montenegro alone took in some 250,000!
Serbia was Basher alsaads staunchest supporters for years, now radical Serbian Chetniks want to refuse Syrians civilians sage passage? Basically Serbia is only a transit country, as 70% of these refugees are seeking entry into the EU!!!
I'm wondering what the Russians are thinking of Serbia at this time, as Russia is probably the biggest supporter of Assad & his people?

This is a very hard situation. It really is not the fault of these migrants that their country got so torn apart. It really is depressing to see people in the 60's, 70's, 80's, and even older pushed through on wheelbarrows with nothing else. On the other hand, it's tough for countries like Serbia that have their own economic issues and refugees to have this added burden. While I don't agree with the protest, some people want to protest this and in a democracy they should have that right, but it should only be peaceful. You can approve it in areas where it won't spark some chaos, and if it's not peaceful, you end it.

Personally, I think Serbia is handling it best. You're not going to stop this migration no matter what. Hungary's fence will not stop it as shown the last two days. So you might as well make it organized. Have an entry point where you can document and treat anyone ill (so as not to spread anything), have busses ready to move them to their next border, and out process them. Yes, it's a burden but it's better to help them move along than to sit there and beat them, tear gas them, etc. They'll probably be better behaved with better treatment.

Serbia is not their destination, so let them go to Germany, Austria, England etc who sat back and helped cause the problems in their country through their political policies.

Denise : Democracy is not always convenient.

Democracy is a methodology of keeping state power in the same hands. It gives advantage to those who enter the fight with a bigger weight ( in sports it is different) and it’s “not always convenient” because now and then non-system opposition comes to power. But it happens not often so if Hitler came to power formally in a democratic way it did not mean that the competition was honest. After the success of the Communists in the local elections of 1932 Hitler received as much money as it was required. And if the US found no problems with the last elections it means only that they saw no difference between Tadic&Co and Nikolic&Co and we can see it every day. So I am very sceptic about the LGBT, about democracy, about tolerance, about Holocaust , about politcorrectness , about swine flu , Antarctida melting, about Angela Merkel and Pythagoras, about Mitteleuropa, about the Crimean war of 1856 and many other things that are implemented in our minds.

Denise

As long as it is a peaceful demonstration they should allow it. Voltaire (I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it) already said it. Democracy is not always convenient. Ignoring people and their democratic right to demonstrate will always lead to worse situations. You also avoid discussion. Ignoring the problem will lead to it being swept under the carpet. But things usually do not stay under the carpet forever. A convenient decision but not a wise one.
