How many new words have they made up this year? Every time I hear "Croatian" spoken I can but marvel at their ingenuity. They speak Serbo-Croat just the same as Serbs do or at least they did until they started to manufacture a new language for themselves.Nothing wrong with Cyrillic by the way, people are always very impressed if you can read and write it.I am.Come on you Croatians give up on your complexes or at least seek therapy.

This website has always been very pro serb but here is the issue VUKOVAR was the staging ground for the onslaught of rape murder and mutilation and deportation of Croatia's OWN people the burned the hospital with people still alive in it and drank and sang songs as they destroyed Vukovar to the ground. The men who are in wheelchairs who fought for Croatia's independence and people like my father and grandfather who were imprisoned and beaten by the serbs because they refused to learn what to us is a backwards language is totally understandable! If you live in America and you want to put signs up in arabic so that the Islamists can "read and understand" that they are in New York or ground zero don't you find that a little ridiculous? Now would you blame the fire fighters and family members of people who died there for tearing down the signs? I didn't think so some people need a history lesson before they write these comments! When Serbs admit they are attacked Croatia and stop calling our country "Hitler's country" only then can we talk about Vukovar...

No history lesson is required. Your gov't. signed agreements that put into law they would allow cyrillic signs in areas populated by 30% or more Serbs. It has nothing to do with history. It had to do with getting into the EU. The EU required this, so the Croat gov't. agreed to it. Now the world sees that the word of a Croat is worth nothing. More alarming is that laws in Croatia mean nothing. The radical right wing has more power than the gov't. Live up to your committments.

The Croatian flag was burned by some Serb extremist politician, and not by an official state organ of Serbia, neither by a local city assembly. Belgrade didn't set up a law that allows burning of Croatian flags, like Vukovar assembly set up a decree to remove bilingual signs - which is even contradictory to the Croatian (official) state policy and laws.

The UNPROFOR representatives were present at the identification process and forensic treatment, especially at the most illustrative cases."

I am explaining that it was the governments idea yes to do that because of pressure put on them to join the EU however you also as a typical serb won't open your eyes or admit that the atrocities your government and people COMMITED are why these signs are such a touchy subject.
