The most appropriate response I can give for why should Ukraine be an issue for Serbia is a saying by
Pastor Martin Niemöller
very famous quote:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me

Russia is a really bad actor, and I truly feel sorry for Serbia for being a friend to her. Nothing good can come of that long-term.

Wake up, Serbia. National success isn't based on the garbage valued by Russian society.

But Russia isn't unfriendly to Serbia. Why should Serbia care about Russia's actions towards Ukraine? Everything is about self-interest. Did Ukraine break off relations with NATO during the aggression in the 90s? And I am not even advocating for Serbia to have bad relations with Ukraine. I even think it's in Serbia's interest not to recognize Crimea reunification because supporting territorial integrity is in Serbia's self-interest and Ukraine didn't recognize Pristina UDI.

But that said, it's also in Serbia's interest to have the best political and economic relations with Russia. Anyone who says otherwise simply doesn't have Serbia's best interest at heart. And there are many of those kinds of people even in Serbia. They are usually paid by some of these God awful NGO's in Belgrade.

And the west supports Serbia's territorial integrity without the area called Kosovo!!! The huge difference is though that no one in the west took Kosovo for their own.

Russia uses lies as a tool.

This isn't just BS, this is part of a consistent programme of deception.

Russia should be prepared to get out of Crimea, and Russia should criminalise Russians who fight in Ukraine.

Then Russian politics may become deserving of some respect.

The EU has been too mild in its reactions to Russian imperial expansionism.

Putin has been in post too long. He is no longer a democrat, but the usual bullying "president for life" for whom power has gone to his head and who views himself as being there by divine right.

A democratic Russian opposition needs to provide a sensible alternative.

Questioner, you are absolutely right - this rhetoric is simply nuts. I also love the quote about how there is not going to be a military solution to the conflict - as if the fighting raging at this very moment isn't intended to lay the groundwork for some type of "peaceful" settlement that benefits Russia.

Funny statement. Must be a case of Russian schizophrenia. What comes next? Albania's PM declaring his country is strongly supporting Serbia's territorial integrity - except in Kosovo?
