Arrested general would be 50th Serb extradited to Croatia

There is no criminal case in Serbia against retired General Borislav Djukic and for that reason Serbia cannot seek his extradition from Montenegro.

Vaso Pecer, Božo Ceko ,nikola crnogorac, djuka crnogorac, nikola Dragičević , Mile Dragičević , Sava Ceko , Milan Andic , Nicola Andic , todor vuckovic, Zoran vuckovic, spase Ceko, Marica Radinovic , djuka Mirković ,and Zoran vuckovic and so the list goes on...80% of their homes were looted, burned down or made inhabitable. So Whoever did survive didn't have a home to return to after years of living in exile.

How many of those mentioned died as soldiers in battle? Or currently reside in Serbia proper? Or emigrated abroad? Google search should identify that.

Some Serb homes were likely burned or looted; how many non-Serb homes were burned and looted from 1991 to 1995? Why do you only hear Serbs screaming about what happened to them and not Croats? Croats were bigger victims in occupied territory, that's a fact.

And for the housing issue, the main difference is that Croatia had to rebuild ALL homes. How much did Serbia contribute to the reconstruction effort? And seeing that they were responsible for more than half the destruction and damages in Serb-occupied territory, they should be held to account.

Just for all of those doubting my post, here are a few names that were tortured, shot and killed in my village between 1991-1995 by the croats.
They all lived in polaca, knin, (krajina)
Vaso Pecer, Božo Ceko ,nikola crnogorac, djuka crnogorac, nikola Dragičević , Mile Dragičević , Sava Ceko , Milan Andic , Nicola Andic , todor vuckovic, Zoran vuckovic, spase Ceko, Marica Radinovic , djuka Mirković ,and Zoran vuckovic and so the list goes on.
After the exodus of the Serbian people who had lived in krajina for generations
80% of their homes were looted, burned down or made inhabitable. So
Whoever did survive didn't have a home to return to after years of living in exile.
Anyone care to take the blame for this?

Did you say the same about Oric's arrest?? He had flown through Switzerland many times but it happened and then he was not extradited to Serbia, he too lived in the open and traveled. No difference in the two.

With regards to General Djukic's arrest in monte negro I cant understand why it has happened now after 23 years.
He has been to monte negro on many occasions, travelled through most of the EU and has been called to The Hague twice. I'm sure if he was wanted for war crimes he supposedly commited he would have been captured years ago, or The Hague would have detained him.
It's not as if he has been in hiding all these years,he's been living in Belgrade.
Croatia look at yourselves, you know and we all know what you did to the Serbian people that lived in krajina, stop trying to defend yourselves.

Nobody in their right mind can believe that a Serb would get a fair trial in Croatia.
(njegos, 21 July 2015 16:59)
Just as no one in their right mind would believe that a Croat, Bosniak, or Albanian would get a fair trial in Serbia. That is why these cases should ONLY be tried in international courts such as the ICTY or in independent neutral countries.

Yet when a case against a Serb is brought forth, such as this one and that of Capt. Dragan, the Croat gov't. wastes no time in assembling the kangaroo court for their 'so called' trial. Nobody in their right mind can believe that a Serb would get a fair trial in Croatia.

Then it will be Britain where you live run and hide poor nothing to stand on Njegos. Justice is slow but persistent imagine 96% + of the war criminals of former Yugo are Serbs. I have no problem with those who committed crimes being brought to justice, however, the Croatian judicial system has proven to be very selective in which cases they decide to try and those that they conveniently delay. I am referring specifically to the several hundereds of documented cases that have been brought to the Croatian judiciary for crimes committed against Serbs. The vast majority, if not all of these cases, get pushed to the side and not prioritized. It was estimated that at the current pace, it would take Croatia over 100 years to hear the cases against Serbs due to their intentional foot dragging. Yet when a case against a Serb is brought forth, such as this one and that of Capt. Dragan, the Croat gov't. wastes no time in assembling the kangaroo court for their 'so called' trial. I'm puzzled to see all comments here as well as the Serb Governments idea that people should be extradited to Serbia, for what? There was never any war in Serbia so what does Serbia has to do with what happened in BiH and Croatia?

After all the Serbian Governement always rejected the idea that they had anything to do with the wars in BiH and Croatia. The JNA claimed to have no control whatsoever since thy did not have any command and control over Serb forces outside of Serbia.....or was that just not true?

How can the Serb Government seek extradition of Orid for a crime he committed in BiH to a citizen of BiH?????

That was a nice post and as I have no knowledge of the man nor was I in Croatia during that time, I cannot dispute nor have any reason not to believe the veracity nor the sincerity of your post.
But as far as your condemnation of Montenegro, it kind of throws your praise of this person into a different light. As a country, Montenegro is compelled to act on international warrants, they then have the responsibility to determine whether these have any legitimacy or are political warrants, and then to determine if there are other countries that have warrants and send him to the most appropriate country or release him via a judicial decision.
Montenegro has done nothing wrong.
But your analysis that Montenegro should not have arrested him based on no other reason than he was Serbian, really reduces the whole post to nothing but ethnical bias.

At the same time, according to the Veritas Documentation and Information Center, no person suspected of war crimes committed against the Serb population have been extradited to Serbia.

Why would anyone be sent to serbia for war crimes? The war as never fought in serbian territory, ergo there is nobody who should be put on trial in serbia.

The law that serbia passed giving itself right to prosecute anyone from the former Yugoslavia is nothing but a pathetic attempt to try and maintain influence over countries that want to have nothing to do with them. You can see how much respect the rest of the world pays to this decree, they returned Oric to BiH because it was deemed that he had no case to answer in Belgrade.

@Nada; Since you "witnessed" these crimes one would assume that you would have been a star witness at the hearings in The Hague. I for one wish to thank you for your contribution to justice in the region.

With regards to general borislav djukic I would like to say firstly, I am British born and went to live in Croatia at the age of 20 and was there from 1978-1992.
I have personally known him for 25 years and I can say that in my opinion he was a professional career soldier and normal family guy.
He was not one of those many renegade types who joined the war when it started in 1991.
I can't speak more highly of this man and his character. He would absolutely not commit any so called war crime.
Monte negro should be ashamed of their actions, what are they trying to prove?
Is it sour grapes since their break away from Serbia(SFRY) for independence that their economy has gone down the pan.
I lived in krajina for the first year of the war 1991-1992 and witnessed many of my friends and family killed and tortured by Croat forces.
Two names in particular who actually lived in the same village as myself were
Vaso Ceko and Bozidar Ceko (where are their murderers now?)
General djukic is a kind pleasant normal man who did his job professionally during the war. Monte negro should immediately release him to the Serbian authorities.
