Ned,

They are engineering a take down of RS's Republic status. And they can't move to end-game on Kosovo with Bosnia dangling like this.

It may be a question of ambition. That state Dodik rules is miniscule and he's already reached the top there. Where else is there to go? The reality is his time at the top will diminish, unless there's a legitimate struggle to be fought in the future. Perhaps a merger with the Serbian "super state" is driving his ambition.

"Serbia has never and in no way interfered in the internal affairs of Bosnia-Herzegovina, nor in the internal affairs of the RS." It's not a question of Serbia interfering with RS. Quite the opposite. It may be RS interfering with Serbia. Imagine that.

Look out Vucic. He may be vying for your job. In all seriousness even if he did reach his climax as head of the Serbia "super state." I'm not sure he understands that he'll need to cater for the Bosniaks living in Serbia too, and the other minorities. Perhaps he is unaware they exist. You have to govern for all EQUALLY Dodik. Your aware of that aren't you?

Imagine his negotiations with Europe? Perhaps that's not his intention. Perhaps a merger with mother Russia too. He'll be there trying to dislodge Putin. Good Luck. Serbia and Russia don't share borders Dodik.

I've always been told that Nationalism is narcissistically inclined. It's a condition you generally grow out of, once the kids come along. That is if you care for them. You only have to watch children share ice cream to realize that they should never be allowed to govern.

Factman: If the courts were indeed doing what you claim I would agree with you but they are not and have shown no intention of doing so. Ruling against Dodik and attempting to change the Dayton Agreement are not the same thing. He, however, believes that any attack on him is in fact an attack on the RS because in his mind he IS the RS.

Why not a referendum ...the Croats & Muslim do not want to live with the Serbs and vice versa ....that's the will of the people why force them to live together.

Scotland held one and nobody from RS occupied police stations and army bracks like folks inEastern Ukraine. What is the problem.

Why not hold a referendum in RS on who is tired of endless political games and that all of this ethnic rhetoric coming out of a politican's mouth is just a tool used to keep the ruling class in power and the people divided, confused and powerless to stand up for themselves, their families and their children's future.

But what if those courts are being used to subvert the original understandings of the Dayton Agreement -- namely the dissolution of RS?

it would also appear that Belgrade has an obligation to also uphold the intent and meaning of what they signed, and not to stand by as its meaning is changed by non-signators (in a sneaky way intended to manufacture a vehicle for dissolution).

If everyone wants dissolution of RS and will find any way possible to make it happen, then RS has nothing to lose by holding a referendum. why should they not hold it? why should they care about anything for that matter?

They have no rights.

Colonialism.

All Honesty: What is the source for your claim that Serbs and Croats contribute 80% of the budget (albeit you said "probably"), or did you pluck a figure from the air? As to the referendum issue, Serbia is a signatory to Dayton and rightly uses this to protect the RS from suggestions of a unitary state. By the same token they are then obliged to protect the state from these types of initiative from Dodik. Dodik is in no position to simply ignore the Constitutional and State Courts whether he likes their judgments or not. They were established as part of the overall Dayton agreement as was the Office of the High Representative with whom he is constantly at war. Focus on the ailing economy Milorad rather than distracting the electorate with irrelevant referenda. First Greece with their meaningless vote and now the RS. These things cost money to hold which neither can afford.

I got to say in defense of Dodik that Serbian and Croatian parts probably contribute 80 percent of the state budget yet Serbian premiers get thrown with stones and persecution of croats continues.
